Largely due to the arrival of Ryanair the passenger traffic at Valladolid has grown from just 195,000 passengers in 2001 to just over 512,929 in 2007. Over 14,000 flights were handled there last year. Valladolid is the capital city of the Castile - Leon area and the airport is around 10 kms outside of the City centre.

The car hire offices at the airport can be found in the main arrivals hall. There are three Valladolid car hire companies based at the airport and they are:

Ryanair offer flights to Valladolid from London Stansted, Milan and Brussels. It is also possible to fly into Valladolid from Barcelona, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Seville and Valencia with Iberia and from Paris with Air France. We have supplied details on fights from London Stansted to Valladolid

The Valladolid arrivals hall is fairly small with only two carousels. From the parking platform, passengers can reach the baggage reclaim hall through one of the two doors, one of which has passport control. Parking at Valladolid is quite reasonable and there are 260 spaces plus about another 140 spaces reserved for hire cars. The costs of parking are €0.42 for the first 30 mins, €0.52 for the second 30 mins then €0.78 per hour up to €8.65 for a maximum of 4 days. The daily maximum from the fifth day is €6.90.

Except in exceptional circumstances, vehicles may only enter and leave the car park between the hours of 6:00 and 23:00. Once in the car park the vehicle may remain there 24 hours a day.

There are three bus routes from the airport: Buses from Valladolid to Madrid and Valladolid to Leon must be booked in advance through www.alsa.es This link takes you through to the English version of their website for timetables and fares. The journey to Madrid takes just over 2 hours and costs €13.08 for a single fare and €24.85 if you book a return ticket. The fares to Leon are €7.66 single/€14.55 return.
