Valencia Golf Courses

There are currently six championship golf courses within a 20 minute drive of Valencia Airport and city centre, with more in the planning stages. Among the most popular are El Bosque, El Escorpion, Golf Manises and El Saler. The green fees are similar to the UK and more reasonable than more famous Costa del Sol and Algarve courses

The Club de Golf El Bosque is 15 minute drive of the airport. It is a picturesque, undulating 18 hole course with narrow fairways and four lakes which can make par a challenge. The greens are defended in places by pine trees and the course could be described as variable in difficulty, challenging in places but your handicap should be achievable.

An 18 hole course located on the outskirts of Valencia just a 15 minute drive from the city centre and airport. The Club de Golf Escorpion has a course is set in a very attractive pine covered valley surrounded by undulating hills. The setting is relatively flat with five lakes and orange groves acting as the rough.

Golf Manises is the oldest of Valencia’s clubs situated almost beside the airport. It is a relatively simple course, less challenging than many and suitable for less mobile golfers and beginners. The 9 hole course is flat with narrow, tree lined fairways which means that accuracy is important. The greens are small and well guarded by bunkers with approaches that are often tight with some fairly tricky rough.

Located in the Albufera Nature Park on the southern outskirts of Valencia, El Saler is a links course alongside the Mediterranean Sea.
It is a course which is scattered with sand dunes and pine trees. It is a long and demanding course with wide greens and more than 90 bunkers which is favoured by a number of footballers

Situated close to the resort of Gandia this is a 6 hole course which is ideal for beginners or those with little time to spare but still want to enjoy a game of golf. The course is right on the coast with short fairways and no trees or water-hazards. It has an excellent driving range to practice your swing

Situated close to the town of Oliva, this 18 hole par 72 course has excellent class golf facilities and was voted the best of all Seve Ballesteros' designed courses. Itoffers great variety for all golfers, with short, medium and long holes as well as right and left hand dog leg fairways. Water plays a part in the difficulty of the course, with a number of lakes placed as obstacles along 15 of the holes. Other facilities on site include a Golf Academy, 25 bay driving range with 25 bays, two putting greens, two chipping areas and two bunkers. The course is open all year.

If you are planning to explore the area outside of the city centre and play some golf or go to some of the more out of the way beaches then you might consider hiring a car. There are a number of car hire firms based at Valencia Airport who will be pleased to have a vehicle awaiting your arrival. This also cuts down on transfer costs for you and your family.
