Trains at Valencia Airport
The
Valencia Airport trains all run via The Metro (underground), the
main line High speed trains such as RENFE
and AVE do not go to Valencia airport but are only a few minutes
away by Metro.
Valencia's metro network consists of 4 lines that cover the entire city and beyond. Each line has a distinctive colour, and the station map is pretty easy to read (it looks a bit a like the London Tube map). You can get a complete map of the Metro and route planner by clicking here
Valencia Airport Trains - Metro
Fares start at €1.30-€3.50 for a single trip to any destination within the city limits (prices rising as you cover more zones from 1-4). You can buy tickets from machines or from the ticket office at the stations, but if you are planning to use the metro (and other forms of transport) a few times, you may be better off buying a combined travel card (Bono Metro: 10 trips €6.10-€17.30 again depending on zones), or a Valencia tourist card (€6 for 1 day, €10 for 2 and €12 for 3) which covers all transport and gives discounts on admittance to museums and other attractions.
On the urban stretches of the metro there is a 4 minute headway during rush hours and 7.5 minutes during the rest of the day.
Suburban sections are served every 15 minutes, single track sections on Line 1 offer a train every 30-45 minutes. The Valencia Metro operates between 5:00 and 24:00.
