We used to spend hours researching information on airlines and flights from various UK destinations to Alicante , but it was very difficult to keep our guide up to date with the timetables and schedules constantly changing.

So have now found a really good gadget below which gives you all the information that you need. And the best news of all is that it takes you direct to the site for the airlines involved to make the actual reservation and not through a booking agent who will often add on a commission fee.

Information on Alicante

Alicante Airport informationAlicante has a number of palaces worth visiting which include the Gavina Palace and Provincial Gallery with fine paintings from the 19th century. The bullring there is one of the oldest in Spain (built in 1849) and is still in use.

The old quarter of the city is a maze of small streets full of multi-coloured buildings which climb the hill. Higher up are whitewashed houses that offer spectacular views of the city and bay.

15km south of Alicante is the guitar-shaped Tabarca Island which is a 30 hectares marine reserve. It was once a refuge for Berber pirates, and in 1760 King Carlos III ordered a fortress to be built here. You can now take a short boat ride from Alicante harbour to the island.

At the harbour there is still a working fishing fleet as well as pleasure crafts, passenger vessels, nautical schools and sailing clubs. There is a wide selection of bars and restaurants where you will find some of the finest fish restaurants in the area.

From Alicante Airport you can choose to transfer to your holiday destination by getting on any of the Alicante Airport buses, taking an Alicante Airport taxi or if you are organised, meeting your pre booked Alicante Airport transfer driver in the arrivals hall.

In our opinion the best and most cost effective way to transfer to your holiday resort is by pre-booking your Car Hire at Alicante Airport.
