At the moment there are building works at Malaga Airport which are due to be completed and operational by Easter 2010. There will be a second runway, which will almost double the flight capacity, and is due for completion by the end of 2010.
The new terminal building will include a new railway station for the Malaga-Fuengirola Cercanías line and a high-speed AVE link to the airport. Two new road links will be added: the A-7 motorway to the south and a ring road to the north which will be joined to the national MA-21 road.
