Malaga airport is located 8km (5 miles) southwest of Malaga City and although it has 2 Terminals 99% of flights arrive at the newer and larger Terminal 2, all information within this guide relates to Terminal 2.

At the moment there is a lot of building work being carried out which should be completed early next year when there will be a new terminal building which will give the airport the ability to deal with 50% more passengers at peak times as well as another runway and additional rail link.

There are also four different routes from Ireland to Malaga and three routes from Scotland to Malaga.

If you want to get the Languedoc Region of France from southern Spain then you can fly direct to Nice Airport with Iberia but cannot fly directly to Beziers Airport and need to go via London Luton Airport or you can get to Perpignan Airport via Bristol or Paris with Ryanair or Easyjet.

From 30th June the newsagents in T1, the Unicaja banking office and the cash point next to it will be closed. The press shop in arrivals area in T2 and some cash points in T1 and T2 (arrivals and departures) will continue to be available.

The Malaga airport taxis can be found on the ground floor just outside the arrivals hall and when you return they will simply drop you off on the upper level or the nearest place to the arrivals terminal whilst all the work is being carried out.
