Taxis Malaga Airport
The main taxi rank for the taxis at Malaga Airport can be found outside Terminal 1, Arrivals and at Terminal 2, Departures
After you have collected your luggage head for the main exit straight ahead of you and turn right, go through the double doors and you will find the queue for the taxis.
On the wall besides the double doors is a poster that shows the tariffs the taxis should charge. I don't want to tar all Spanish taxi drivers with the same brush but this poster is often vandalized on purpose!
You may find that booking your own private transfers from Malaga Airport isn't any more expensive.
Taxi Fares at Malaga Airport
The taxis have a surcharge which is applied at different times of the day.
Fare 1(weekdays from 06.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.): minimum fare, €1.30; kilometre travelled, €0.75; hour's wait, €17; minimum service, €3.20; minimum service from the airport, €14.
Fare 2(weekdays from 10.00 p.m. to 06.00 a.m., Saturdays and holidays): minimum fare, €1.60; kilometre travelled, €0.90; hour's wait, €21; minimum service, €4; minimum service from the airport, €17.
Fare 3 (Saturdays and holidays from 3:00 am to 6:00 am): minimum fare, €2; kilometre travelled, €1.10; hour's wait, €26; minimum service, €5; minimum service from the airport, €18.
Supplement to/from airport: €5.
As a rough guide you should allow around €75 euros to get to Puerto Banus or Marbella.
Establish the price before you get into the taxi and if you are staying in the Marbella area ask the driver to use the peaje or toll road. It is an extra €5 in the summer but is far far safer and the journey times are far more predictable.
