Taxis at Madrid Airport

Shuttle Direct Airport Transfers

Please note that Madrid Airport Taxis can normally only accommodate a maximum of 4 people including any young children, if there are more than four people then it may be preferable to book a private Madrid Airport Transfer.

You can get the Madrid airport taxis from outside each Terminal building and they operate on a queue system. Generally the queues move quickly but there can be delays during peak times.

Or a cheaper option is to book a seat on one of the private Madrid Airport Shuttle Buses where you can reserve a ticket on a shared transfer bus.

Taxi Ranks At The Airport

Taxis at Madrid AirportYou can find the taxi ranks located at:

Madrid Airport Terminal 1 ground floor. Arrivals opposite lounge 2.

Madrid Airport Terminal 2 ground floor. Arrivals opposite lounge 5

Madrid Airport Terminal 3 ground floor. Arrivals opposite lounge 7

Madrid Airport Terminal 4 ground floor arrivals.

To take a taxi you must go to the appropriate rank. Avoid any drivers who offer their services unsolicited inside the terminal buildings. The taxis here are metered so make sure that the taxi driver has started up the taximeter at the start of the journey (minimum fare) by putting the flag down and ask for a bill in the case of any complaint.

Madrid Airport Private Shuttle Bus Services

Finally we also provide details of private shuttle buses at Madrid Airport where you can reserve a ticket on a shared transfer bus.

There are also facilities at Madrid Airport for Madrid Airport buses and Madrid Airport trains.

You may also find that to rent a car in Madrid Airport is cheaper over a week or long weekend than the cost of a return taxi journey especially if you are travelling a distance of 50kms or more. We do not recommend this for those of you staying in the city centre!

One final tip, the word for slower is "LENTO" you may need this word if the driver of any Madrid Airport Taxis wants to live up to his reputation for speeding! (Traffic permitting!)
