There are four terminals handling Madrid Airport Arrivals:
Madrid Airport Terminal 1, Madrid
Airport Terminal 2 Madrid
Airport Terminal 3 Madrid
Airport Terminal 4 and the satellite terminal Madrid Airport Terminal 4S
Below is a rough guide to which flights land in which Terminals, it is vital to check the terminal for your Madrid Arrival which is represented by T1, T2, T3, T4 and T4S next to the estimated time of arrival.
Madrid Airport Arrivals Terminal 1
International Flights except Iberia flights coming from the following countries Germany, Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Holland, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden and Air Europa flights coming from France, Italy, and Portugal
If your flight comes into T1, make your way to baggage reclaim 1 or 2 located on the ground floor of the terminal.
Madrid Airport Arrivals Terminal 2
Domestic flight arrivals from the following countries Germany, Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Holland, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden and Air Europa flights coming from France, Italy, and Portugal.
If your flight comes in to T2, make your way to baggage reclaim 5 or 6 located on the ground floor of the terminal.
Madrid Airport Arrivals Terminal 3
All Spanair domestic flights and shuttles If your flight comes in to T3, make your way to baggage reclaim 6 or 7 located on the ground floor of the terminal.
Madrid Airport Arrivals Terminal 4
All British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia flights.
There are two baggage reclaim halls situated on the ground floor of T4. Hall 10, for national and international Schengen flights, has 13 baggage reclaim carousels (numbers 7 to 19) and hall 11, for non-Schengen flights, has 6 carousels (numbers 1 to 6).
Madrid Airport Arrivals Terminal 4S (satellite building)
Flights arriving from Spain or a Schengen Country:
Make your way to P-2 and take the Automatic Underground train to T4. This is a remote-controlled train that connects T4 with T4S. The journey takes just over 3 minutes. Once you are in T4, make your way to baggage reclaim 10 located on the ground floor of the terminal.
Flights arriving from a non-Schengen country or third country outside the EU:
Go to P2 and go through passport control and the hand luggage Customs point. Then go down to the second floor and board the underground train. Once you are in T4, make your way to baggage reclaim 11 which is located on the ground floor.
If your flight is disembarked without direct access to the terminal by airbridge, a bus will take you to P0 where you will go through passport control and the hand luggage Customs point. Go down to the second floor and board the underground train to T4 where you should make your way to baggage reclaim 11 located on the ground floor.
Flights arriving from a Non-Schengen EU country:
If your flight is disembarked via the airbridge in T4S make your way to P2 and go through passport control. Then go down to the second floor and board the underground train. Once you are in T4, make your way to baggage reclaim 10 located on the ground floor of the terminal.
If your flight comes is disembarked without direct access to the terminal by airbridge a bus will take you to P0 where you will go through passport control and the hand luggage Customs point. Then go down to floor 2 and board the underground train. Once you are in T4, make your way to baggage reclaim 10 located on the ground floor of the terminal.
