Lanzarote Golf Courses

Although there are several new courses in the pipeline, currently there is just one golf club in Lanzarote. The dry climate here does not lend itself to lush green fairways, but the introduction of desalination plants which produce abundant water straight from the Atlantic Ocean means that it is now possible to produce the rich growth of grass required for a championship course.

This is an 18 hole par 72 course which is the only one on the island. It is a 10 minute drive from Arrecife and is situated at the base of the Tahiche long extinct volcano. It is a beautiful course to play on surrounded by 3,000 palm trees, figs and subtropical vegetation and was first opened to the public during 1978 with a challenging design by John Harris. Facilities here include a golf academy, pro shop, club and buggy hire, restaurant and cafeteria.

If you are planning to explore the area outside of the city centre and play some golf or go to some of the more out of the way beaches then you might consider hiring a car . There are a number of car hire firms based at Lanzarote Airport who will be pleased to have a vehicle awaiting your arrival. This also cuts down on transfer costs for you and your family.
