Arrecife Car Hire
The Airport is only 5kms from Arrecife which is the island's capital, and it is relatively easy to drive to and from Lanzarote Airport via the Arrecife- Yaiza (LZ-2) road, taking the clearly marked exit at kilometre point number 4. It will take around 45 minutes to drive to Playa Blanca and 20 and 15 minutes to the popular resorts of Puerto del Carmen and the Costa Teguise respectively.
If you are visiting Lanzarote from a country outside the EU you will need an International Driving Licence issued by the correct authority in your home country which must have one page of information in Spanish.
You should remember that your “tourist status” in a foreign country usually applies for only three months as far as insurance is concerned, so if you are staying in Spain for a longer period you must check your cover with your broker.
