Hi Linda,
thank you so much for that info. It has put my mind at rest. Thanks for such a helpful website,
kind regards, Elaine.
Hi again Elaine,
Madrid is a large international airport with its own pet centre, so as long as you have all the correct paperwork there should be no reason why you cannot collect your cat straight from the flight. I transported my cats into Spain some years ago and it is a pretty straightforward process as long as they have the veterinary certificates and are microchipped. i think your friend might be referring to one of the smaller Spanish airports where there is no pet or cargo centre or has limited opening hours.
This link to the Spanish Airport Authority details what is required and hopefully allow you to double check your paperwork is correct and will set your mind at rest http://www.aena.es/csee/Satellite?cid=1048753077335&pagename=subHome&

Hi Linda, Madrid, sorry I never wrote that. Elaine.
Hi Elaine,
Which Spanish airport are you and your cat flying in to?
Linda
Hi Gary,
I was hoping you can help me? I am coming from Qatar to Spain,on March 21st. I am bringing my cat with me. She is 4 years old, all her vacinations are current, she has been chipped and has her rabies vacination. I am travelling with Qatar airways and have spoken to them, and she is going cargo on the same flight. We are picking up a hire car and driving down to Malaga. We thought that we would be able to just collect the cat and leave straight away, but someone told me that there will be forms in Spanish to fill out, and the relevent office could be closed? Our flight arrives at 17.10pm terminal 1. I would be grateful for any information you can give me.
Many thanks, Elaine.
