Lost property at Ibiza Airport

Thank you for your help Linda.

Hi Sally-Ann,

You need to contact the lost property office at Ibiza Airport. Their number is +34 971 809 207 or you can email them at ibizaservicios@aena.es

You might have to wait a while for a response I'm afraid as this is their busiest time of year and they are inundated at the moment.

Linda

Hi Gary

Sorry to bother you but I wonder if you can please help me? On Friday 18 July at around 11.30 pm I left my watch in the plastic box that you put your items in that goes through the x-ray machine (at Ibiza Airport). The watch is silver, with a round face with diamonds around it, and 'River Island' written on it and has great sentimental value.

Is there anyway this could be located? If so, is there a way I can pay for this to be sent back to me in England?

I would be very grateful if you could email me back.

Many thanks.

Taxis at Ibiza Airport

Hi Alex,

At this time of the year you will find it virtually impossible to make a booking. They will be lined up outside the airport but are several flights which come in around the same time as yours so you might have to queue for a bit to get one.

Linda

hi

do we need to book something or will they just be avilable from outside the airport?

Alex

Taxis from Ibiza Airport to Santa Eulalia

Thank you so much for your help

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

At this time of year you will not be able to prebook a normal taxi - only a private transfer where they meet you inside the terminal building and which is more expensive. You can get taxis from the rank outside the arrivals terminal at Ibiza but you might have to queue for bit. It's a 21km journey to Santa Eulalia from the Airport and the single fare (which covers up to 4 people travelling) will be in the region of €30.

Your other option - which might work out cheaper, but you need to get a quote - is to book a seat on a private shuttle bus from Ibiza Airport to Santa Eulalia.

Linda

Hi Gary

Sorry to bother you but can you tell me the cost of a taxi from Ibiza airport to Santa Eulalia and are taxis readily available or do I need to pre book.

Thanks for your help

You have two options for buses:you can book a seat on a private shuttle a bus from Ibiza Airport to San Antonio which is a shared transfer option or catch the no 9 public transport bus from Ibiza. If you click on the links you can find out more about these services.

Linda

Hi Gary

Euro currency exchange in Ibiza

Hi Laura,

The exchange rate in Ibiza varies on where you go to change the money - for example you will get more if you go into a bank than at the Bureau de Change kiosks in the tourist resorts. The average current rate fluctuates around 1.24-1.26 GBP to the Euro.

Linda

Hello, I have been looking on your website to try to find out what the exchange rate is in Ibiza, from British Pounds to Euro. If you have any information I would be very grateful to hear from you as I am flying out on Friday.

Many Thanks

Thomas Cook desk at Ibiza Airport

Hi Denise,

I don't know of a Thomas Cook ticketing desk at the airport. If you have already booked the flight the normal procedure is to keep a note of the booking reference and collect it when you check in.

Linda

Hi Gary,

Can you confirm if there is a Thomas cook ticketing desk at Ibiza airport to pick up a ticket for a one way flight to london.

Taxis from biza Airport to San Antonio Bay

The taxis are normally lined up at the rank waiting outside the arrivals hall to greet the incoming flights. It's a 20km fro the airport to San Antonio Bay so a taxi (which can carry up to 4 people) should cost in the region of €30-€35 single fare at that time of night.

Linda

Hello we arrive at Ibiza airport at just after midnight on 18-07-2008. Could you tell me if we will have to wait long for a taxi to San Antonio Bay and roughly how much it will cost for 2 adults and a child. Thank you.

Carrying a wedding cake into Ibiza

Hi Dean,

If you can accommodate it in the hand luggage requirement of the airline then this link will tell you just what foodstuffs you can transport http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm#10

So it looks like you won't be able to carry it on. Is there any way you can wrap it and put it in your hold baggage as this would not present a problem?

Linda

Hi Gary

We are hoping to take our fruit wedding cake to Ibiza, as hand luggage would this be a problem?

Portinatx is 30km from the airport so a taxi will cost in the region of €45-50. Ask for a price from the driver before you set off on your journey. And don't worry, there are taxis at the airport as long as there are flights arriving there.

Getting from Lagos in Portugal to Ibiza

Thank you

Hi Josephine,

There are no direct flights from the Algarve to Ibiza, so your daughter can either fly from Faro to Madrid with Ryanair or Mallorca with Air Berlin and then get connecting flights via Air Nostrum Mediterraneo, Spanair, Air Europa or Iberia or via Air Nostrum Mediterraneo or Air Berlin respectively.

Another alternative is to get a bus from the Algarve to Seville - detials at http://www.faroairportguide.com/faro-to-seville.htm and then a train from Seville to Madrid - details at http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/index.jsp?page=hjhir130.jsp&O=51003&D=MADRI&AF=
2008&MF=MM&DF=DD&SF=NaN&ID=i where she can catch a flight to Ibiza.

So really the answer to your question is that there is no easy way I am afraid.

My daughter and her boyfriend want to travel from Lagos to Ibiza to meet up with other friends – is there an easy way??

Getting from Ibiza Airport to Puerto de San Miguel

Hi Amanda,

Your hotel is a 26km journey form the airport so a taxi (which you can get from outside the airport and need not pre-book) would cost in the region of €35-40.

Or you can get a bus from the airport to San Antonio - details at http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/ibiza-airport-buses.html and then another to Puerto de San Miguel - details at http://www.ibizabus.com/web/es/lucascosta.html

Linda

Hi found your email address on internet - we are travelling to Ibiza in June - just wanted to know the easiest and cheapest way of getting from airport (at around 1030am) to Puerto del San Miguel (staying at San Miguel Park) - is this something you can help with, tried searching internet? Is it worth pre-booking a taxi or using the shuttle service that you can book online - our supplier we have booked hotel/flights with can't organise a transfer service that far north of the island.

Thanks

Aldeasa Duty free shop at Ibiza Airport

Hi Linda

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I have a friend who's Spanish is pretty good so I will try a fax. If that fails the I will get onto the manufacturer. Thanks again for you assistance.

Hi Teresa,

You can contact Aldeasa at Ibiza Airport by telephone on +34 971 809 166 or fax on +34 971 395 401 (they do not have an email address) . Depending on how good your Spanish is, you might find it easier to contact the watch manufacturer and ask them for a spare set of instructions.

Linda

Hi Gary

I bought a gent's chronological watch on 30 September at Aldeasa, Ibiza on my way home to Scotland. When I got home I discovered there were no instructions in the box. The girl that served me had removed them when she was stamping my guarantee and didn't put them back. How can I get in touch with the Aldeasa shop to request they send me the instructions? I can't find an email address for them. I would appreciate your assistance.

Shops at Ibiza Airport

Hi Diane,

If you are flying into Ibiza you will miss the shops there (which are in
the departures lounge) and go through customs to the arrivals hall.
Having said that, I have looked at the shops at Alicante Airport and none
of them appear to sell laptops, and I have never seen them in the duty free
shop Aldeasa.

Ibiza Airport opening hours

Hi Gary,

I just wondering if Ibiza airport closes at all?

We arrive into Ibiza after 1am and are considering sleeping there the night, is this allowed?

Thanks

Amber

Hi Amber,

If you arriving during the high season (which ends in October) then the airport remains open to coincide with the flight arrivals and departures, and looking at Ibiza at the moment the airlines seem to operate throughout the night.

Thanks

Amber

Hi Linda,

Thanks for your response. Do you know if we will have any problems with police or security if we sleep in the airport?

Thanks

Kind Regards,

Amber Chung

Hi again Amber,

Spanish police and security are a law unto themselves I'm afraid so really cant predict what they will do. During the high season I suspect they are used to turning a blind eye to travellers sleeping at the airport.

Wearing fancy dress through Spanish immigration

Hi Simon,

I suspect you'll have more trouble getting through British security than you will Spanish! As long as your face is not disguised or obscured in any way I can't see any reason why it should be a problem. Providing they let you on the plane in the UK!

Have a great weekend.

Linda
Hi Gary, my name is Simon. On the 10th August, 16 lads are coming to Ibiza for a stag weekend. When
we arrive on the Friday night, we'll all be wearing fancy dress. Just wondering if it's ok with Spanish Imigration to be wearing fancy dress. There'll be no offensive outfits, and no make up so our faces will be clearly seen. just with the heightened security alerts, thought it would be best to clarify the matter before we travel. Hope you let us know all the facts asap. Look forward to haering from you. With Regards Simon

"Bomb" at Ibiza Airport

Thank you so much for replying. We love Ibiza very much and you have put my mind at rest. Its such a shame that we all have to live with these threats now.

Hi Julie,

Don't be too disturbed by the recent evacuation of Ibiza Airport and the hoax bomb which had to be diffused. Although nowhere is safe from terrorist attack, this is the annual one that we usually have from the Separatist group ETA. They are a revolutionary group which formed in the 1950s and are still seeking to obtain an independent and socialist Basque country from Spain. Every year during the high season they leave a suspect package (and give a warning) at one of the main tourist resorts or airports in Spain. Hopefully this is it for the year, but be assured we are not under the sort of terrorist attack the UK is currently suffering.

Have a good (and safe!) trip.

Linda
Hi, I heard about the bomb threat at Ibiza airport last weekend and wondered whether there were any risks to tourists flying into Ibiza from England
