Complaint regarding Barcelona Airport

Dear Linda,

thank you for the link, I will contact them right away,

Anamarija

Hi Anamarija,

I am so sorry to hear about your bad experience at Barcelona Airport. It is best if you contact the Complaints Department of Aena (the Spanish Airport Authority) who manage Barcelona Airport as that way you can be sure it gets to the right people. You can telephone them on 902 404 704 or email them (which is the best option) at servicios-aeroportuarios@aena.es

Linda

Dear Mr.Gary,
I have found your e-mail adress and I would like to ask you if you could get me contact person on Barcelona airport, actually someone on higher position who is in charge of personel since I have few huge complaints about their staff and their rude and unprofexionall behaviour, which almost caused that me and my family (including two small children) missed our only plane to Croatia few days ago.
Thank you and best regards,
Anamarija Fabian

Flights from Faro to Barcelona

Hi Kevin,

I am afraid there are no no flights Faro to Barcelona. You can only fly there from Lisbon with TAP-Air Portugal, Vueling and Iberia. The best way to get to Lisbon is by train from Faro

Your other (but very slow) option is to get a bus from Faro to Seville and then a train from Seville to Barcelona.

Linda

Hi Gary,
My wife and I need to leave Faro on the 20/09/08 and end up in Barcelona, it is not critical when we arrive in Bacelona.

Are there any airlines that fly Faro to Barcelona?

Train delay from Barcelona Central

Hi John,

Afraid we are an airport guide and don't have any contacts with or in depth knowledge of Renfe, but it might be worth getting in contact with a company who are the UK representatives for Spanish Rail bookings as they might be able to help. Their website is www.spanish-rail.co.uk

Hope you manage to sort this out.

Linda

Hi there Gary, A colleague of mine is having problems confirming the reason for the delay to a train which left Barcelona Central for the Airport last Night 21/07/08 the train (C10) left Barcelona central at 20:01 due to arrive at the airport for the Easy Jet return flight to the UK, but did not get to the airport until well after 00:45. The Flight was also delayed but they refused to allow late arriving passengers onto the plane hence, The 4 hour delay meant that my colleague's daughter is now trapped with no money in Barcelona. The travel insurance company refuse to cover the claim unless they can get confirmation that the train delay officially happened. Try as I might I have been unable to get hold of anyone in the Spanish rail system that can a) understand English, and b) answer my question what was the cause of the delay. Can you perhaps shed some light on this murky subject?

Lost wallet at Barcelona Airport

Hi Alan,

All you can do is to contact Barcelona Airport lost property. You can telephone them on 0034 932 983 349 or fax 0034 932 983 843. Personally I would opt for the fax because this is the Spanish Airports' busiest time of year for lost property and if you cannot speak Spanish to them I'm afraid they might well hang up.

Hope you manage to locate your wallet.

Linda

Hi Gary,
Just a quick enquiry. Recently (22/6/2008) I travelled from Belfast International to Barcelona on a jet 2 flight LS313. I think I left my wallet on board. I enquired at check-in on the way home. The handlers were very helpful and did their best to find out if it had been handed in to found property at the airport. Unfortunately they could not contact the found property custodian. The airport information desk was not so helpful and did not seem to understand the problem. I asked the flight crew for advice. They said any lost property on a flight is handed over at the arrival airport. I have cancelled all the credit cards, there was a small amount of UK currency but the wallet itself has sentimental value. Any advice?
Best wishes,
Alan fawcett

Getting from Barcelona Airport to the city centre

Hi Emma,

If you click on this link it will tell you the various ways of getting from Barcelona Airport to the city centre. As you will see see, you can get a train from the airport to Barcelona Sants Renfe station and it is about a 20 minute journey and your quickest option. A taxi will cost in the region of €20 for the 12km journey, but might take 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Provided your flight is not delayed, 90 minutes should give you enough time to make the connection.

Linda

Hi,

Please can you yell me how far it is from Barcelona airport to the train station that has trains going to Benicassim? I have 1 hour and half from the time my flight lands to the time I need to get there. Do you think this will be enough?

Travelling from Barcelona to Benicassim

Hi Kai,

You are cutting it very fine because you need to get from the airport to Barcelona Sants station in the city centre to catch the train to Benicassim. If your flight lands a bit early you might just make it.

There are no bus services from Barcelona to Benicassim and it's about a 270km journey so a taxi (which holds 4 people) will cost you over €300 single fare. You have the options of hiring a car from Barcelona Airport or booking a hotel in Barcelona and catching the train the following morning.

Linda

Hi Gary

I hope you can help

Our flight arrives at Barcelona airport at 17.50 on 15th July, but I have just found out the last train to Benicassim departs at 19.00 - I'm assuming this is cutting it fine

Can you tell me what our options are?

Many thanks

Place to meet at Barcelona Airport

Wow, what great service. Somehow I missed this page on your website; probably because I didn’t think to look for a merchant listing.

I’ve told my mom (who is 70 and nervous about traveling on her own) to meet me in front of Medas; this will be useful in case either of us are late and need a coffee.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Kathy,

Many thanks for your kind comments about the website. It's good to know that we are appreciated.

The best place to meet up with your mother is in the arrivals hall at Barcelona Airport. You can find out where the bars and restaurants at Barcelona Airport are by clicking on this link, but think your best bet would be to arrange to meet at Medas Ready to Eat Cafeteria which is open 24 hours a day and is in the public zone on the ground floor of the arrivals hall.

Linda

Hi Gary,

I've just stumbled upon your website and great responses. The Spanish govt should be paying you for your assistance!

I will be flying to Barcelona Airport on Easy Jet this Saturday from London. My mother is scheduled to fly in at the same time as me on a Swiss Air flight from the U.S. I realized today that I hadn't set up a meeting point for us as neither of us have ever been to the airport before.

It appears that we should both be arriving at Terminal A. Can you recommend a good meeting point for us? I don't have a sense of the size of the airport so don't want to be walking in circles.

Thank you!

Getting from Barcelona to Salou

Hi Anne,

It's a 103m journey from Barcelona Airport to Salou so a taxi will take just over an hour and cost about €130 single fare. Your other option is to get a train from Barcelona Sants Station to Salou
but as you will see the last one is at 21.30 so you will not be able to make it from the airport to the centre of Barcelona in time.

I have double checked the bus timetable and I'm afraid you're right that the bus is at 23:40 but that seems to be the only option. The good news is that there are some bars & restaurants at Barcelona Airport which will still be open so you can at least get something to eat and drink while you wait.

Sorry not to have better news.

Linda

Hello Gary

I am arriving in Barcelona Airport on 23rd May at 9.10 pm and was wondering about the best way to get to Salou. I checked the Plana Bus Service and the next bus seems to be 23.40 is there any other quicker option other than a taxi as I am travelling alone and I am aware it is night time?

Thanks

Buses from Barcelona Airport to Plaza Catalunya

Hi Lindsey,

You need to catch the A1 Aerobus which runs to Plaza Catalunya until 01.00 in the morning. You can get more details of timetables, etc, at Spanish Airport Guide Barcelona buses

If you are delayed for any reason and arrive too late for the buses then a taxi will cost in the region of €20-22 single fare for both of you.

Linda

Hi Gary

My husband and I will be arriving at Barcelona airport on Friday 2nd May approximately 2330 hours. Are there still buses running to Plaza Catalunya at that time as we will be staying in hotel in Eixample district and intended taking a taxi from there after leaving airport bus, or would be better taking taxi all the way from airport, if so roughly what should we expect to pay.

Many thanks.
