Ibiza Beaches

Figueretas beachIbiza town is the capital of the island and really is the most fascinating place to visit day or night. There is no beach in the town, but the beach and beautiful Bay of Talamanca is just 15 minute walk along the Marina from Ibiza Town.

The main resorts are: Figueretas which is a small tourist suburb with a good selection of cafés, bars and restaurants.

San Antonio is the second largest resort on the island with a beautiful bay, lots of small beaches and coves and some very lively nightlife and stunning sunsets.

Santa Eulalia is Ibiza's third largest resort and is a popular place for families and anyone wanting a quiet holiday. It has some excellent restaurants, its own small marina and a fantastic sandy beach.

Portinatx is a mini resort which is ideal for families offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with three sandy beaches to choose from.

Cala Vadella and Cala Tarida are beautiful and protected bays on the west coast with a few hotels and shops. They are very peaceful. family friendly places to stay offering great swimming and water sports.

Playa d'en BossaPlaya d'en Bossa is a large and exciting resort with a great variety of bars and clubs, as well as plenty of entertainment for the children.

Es Cana is very much a family resort with a long half moon shaped sandy beach and a small fishing harbour. It is where the famous Hippy Market is held.

Cala Llonga is a mini resort with a wide sandy beach bordering the bay surrounded by hills covered with pine forests. It has shallow waters which are safe for children.

Puerto de San Miguel has a broad sandy beach which is protected by the surrounding cliffs. It is a favourite for low season peace-seeking couples and families during the high season.

Getting around in Ibiza

If you are planning to explore the area outside of the city centre and play some golf or go to some of the more out of the way beaches then you might consider hiring a car. There are a number of car hire firms based at Mahon Airport who will be pleased to have a vehicle awaiting your arrival. This also cuts down on transfer costs for you and your family.

To make sure you get the most from your visit to the Balearics, we have written an Ibiza Area Guide which includes information on the best Ibiza Shops, Local Markets in Ibiza, Ibiza Golf Courses, the different types of Beaches in Ibiza and recommended Ibiza Restaurants. If you are looking for things to keep you occupied and if you want to find out something about the local culture and history of the island, visit our Ibiza Local Attractions Guide
