Girona Airport

Girona Airport (Gerona Airport) on the Costa Brava is an important transport hub for tourism in north-east Spain. It is the country's eighth busiest airport with over 5.2 million passengers passing through its doors in 2009 and more than 48,128 flights being handled. It is a major hub for the budget airline Ryanair.

The airport is situated 12kms south of Girona City centre in the small village of Vilobi d'Onyar. It is well connected to the Costa Brava resorts including Lloret de Mar, l'Estartit and Blanes, and is about a 40 minute drive from the French border, offering a gateway to the Pyrenees and Ski resort of Andorra.

Girona Airport has opened six new boarding gates on the first floor of the passenger terminal, bringing the total to 15.

Girona Airport has four multimedia terminals for access to internet, e-mail, chats, webcam and card readers. This service will also assist passengers who need to check in online at the airport. Two terminals have been installed in the arrivals lobby (public space on the ground floor) and the other two are in the boarding lounge (passenger-only zone on the first floor)
