Girona Airport Buses

The Girona Airport Buses have been increased due to the huge surge in demand from Ryanair passengers wanting to get into the centre of Barcelona.

There are two types of buses from Girona, public transport and private shuttle buses

If you are travelling to one of the resorts close to Girona Airport it might be better to pre book a shared shuttle bus via Shuttle Direct or you can get a quote for a private Girona airport transfer

There are four buses at Girona Airport. You can find them all at the stop just outside of the Girona Airport arrivals hall.

The first Girona Airport Bus is the direct line into Barcelona itself, the journey takes around 1 hour and 10 minutes depending on traffic and you can obtain the full timetable by following our link for buses from Girona Airport to Barcelona. Or you can call the bus company on (0034) 902 361 550.

The cost of a single journey is €12.00 and return is €21.00

The buses run at regular intervals and you are dropped in Barcelona (Estación del Norte, next to the Arco de Triunfo).

The bus timetable is quite sensibly arranged to coincide with the various flight arrivals. For the return buses back to the airport from Barcelona each flight carries a recommended bus that you should catch in order to get to the check in in time.

You can also collect the timetables at the information desk in the Girona Airport terminal between the departures and arrivals halls.

There is a ticket office inside Girona airport arrivals terminal where you can buy bus tickets for all the buses that travel from the airport. It is open 18 hours a day from 08:00 until 02:00 7 days a week. You have to buy you bus tickets from the ticket office in the airport. It is not possible to buy the ticket on the bus itself. You can buy the ticket up to 30 days in advance, as it stays valid for 30 days.

This Service 2 Airport bus runs into the Centre of Girona with a journey time of around 25 minutes, from here you could get the Girona Train into Barcelona or catch connecting buses to the resorts of Figueres, Blanes, Calella, etc.

The buses start running at around 04:30 in the morning until 00.30 in the morning at roughly hourly intervals and you can obtain a full timetable here for the Girona City Bus Timetable You can also find out information about connecting flights through this link. Journey time is about 25 minutes and the single fare is €2.15 and the return €4.10

You may need to travel into the main Girona Bus terminal where there are connections to many of the resorts, however there are a number of "local routes" available direct from the airport.

Girona Airport Service to Costa Brava South from the Airport to the coastal towns of Lloret de Mar, Blanes, Malgrat de Mar, Santa Susanna, Pineda de Mar, Calella de la Costa and Tossa de Mar. Girona Airport Service 4 to Costa Brava North: Figueres, Empuriabrava and Roses. There are currently three buses a day and the single fare is €13.00 Information telephone (0034) 902 302 025 or visit www.sarfa.es for a detailed timetable.

This bus runs from the airport to Sant Feliu de Guixols, S'Agaro, Platja D'Aro, Sant Antoni de Calonge and Palamos.
