Fuerteventura Restaurants
It
isn't usually necessary to book a restaurant in Fuerteventura, but
arrive in good time if you want a window seat or prime table. If
you want to try some Canarian specialities order Majorero goat's
cheese as a starter, roast or fried kid as a main or any kind of
fresh fish. You may be given two bowls of mojo sauce (red - which
can pack a punch, and green) to be used as a drip for your bread
or potatoes.
The traditional dish of gofio amasado is made from a doughy mixture of flour, water, milk, broth, potatoes, honey and wine and served in a leather or fabric bag called a 'zurron'. Pejines are tiny fish which have been dried in the sun then baked, grilled or cooked in alcohol and then generally served as a tapas snack in Canarian bars.
