Fuerteventura Restaurants

It isn't usually necessary to book a restaurant in Fuerteventura, but arrive in good time if you want a window seat or prime table. If you want to try some Canarian specialities order Majorero goat's cheese as a starter, roast or fried kid as a main or any kind of fresh fish. You may be given two bowls of mojo sauce (red - which can pack a punch, and green) to be used as a drip for your bread or potatoes.

The traditional dish of gofio amasado is made from a doughy mixture of flour, water, milk, broth, potatoes, honey and wine and served in a leather or fabric bag called a 'zurron'. Pejines are tiny fish which have been dried in the sun then baked, grilled or cooked in alcohol and then generally served as a tapas snack in Canarian bars.

Pasta A Go Go

Italian restaurant between the main street and waterfront. Serves home made pasta and pizza to eat inside or alfresco at tables in the pedestrianised street.

Restaurante Meston Tio Bernabe
Calle la Iglesia, Corralejo.

Pretty traditional restaurant with whitewashed interior and check tablecloths. Serves Canarian specialities including fresh fish and goat meat, plus international, vegetarian and children's menus.

Popular Chinese restaurant where you can eat in or take away.

El Antojito,
Centro Comercial, Costa Caleta.

Fast food Mexican restaurants with bright interior with painted walls, sepia photos, and colourful Mexican pots and ponchos. You can sit and eat excellent fajitas and burritos on the terrace with views towards the harbour. Offers a children's menu.

Large Italian restaurant on a corner site with blue and yellow tablecloths and a covered terrace. Pasta dishes, pizzas and fish are special favourites

Restaurante Frasquita,
Costa Caleta
Open 1pm-4pm & 6pm-10pm. Closed Mondays

White building with simple interior situated on the beach opposite the castle. Only serves fish with the catch of the day brought to the table for you to select what you want. Fish course served with bread and mojo sauces plus a carafe of wine.

Restaurante La Paella,
Barcelo Club, Costa Caleta.

Elegant restaurant overlooking the bay near the castle. Great place to watch the sunset on a covered terrace with liveried waiters and a welcoming atmosphere. Generous portions of excellent food, especially fish.

La Casa Vieja,
Avenida del Saladar, Morro Jable.

Serves good selection of fish, meat and pizza with flambé a speciality. Eat inside or out

 

Posada San Borodon,
Morro Jable

Restaurant decorated like a ship just behind the rocky cove. Wooden tables with glazed tiles serving mainly Spanish dishes. Live guitar music from 8pm.

Restaurant Laja,
Morro Jable

Situated at the end of the promenade overlooking the cove, you can eat some great fish here including grilled mussels with garlic, or fish stew. Leisurely service.

 

If you are planning to explore the area outside of the city centre and play some golf or go to some of the more out of the way beaches then you might consider hiring a car. There are a number of car hire firms based at Girona Airport who will be pleased to have a vehicle awaiting your arrival. This also cuts down on transfer costs for you and your family.
