Fuerteventura Markets
The
island of Fuerteventura has duty-free status which means that perfume,
alcohol, tobacco and electronic goods are usually reasonably cheap.
Locally produced aloe vera products are a good buy and other items
to look out for are goat logo shirts, bags, handmade pottery, wooden
stamp blocks (for tattoos) and local cheeses
Markets in Fuerteventura
Outdoor
markets are held in Morro Jable and Jandia on Thursdays, Corralejo
(one of the largest) at the Baku Water Park on Mondays and Fridays,
Caleta de Fuste on Saturday mornings and the Costa Calma on Sundays
between 9.00am and 1.00pm. They are the places to shop if you are
looking for Spanish and Moroccan crafts, ceramics and jewellery.
Getting around in Fuerteventura
If you are planning to explore the area outside of the city centre and play some golf or go to some of the more out of the way beaches then you might consider hiring a car. There are a number of car hire firms based at Girona Airport who will be pleased to have a vehicle awaiting your arrival. This also cuts down on transfer costs for you and your family.
We also provide information on sporting and leisure amenities in Fuerteventura with a Fuerteventura Area Guide which includes information on the best Shopping Areas in Fuerteventura, Markets in Fuerteventura Fuerteventura Golf Courses, the different types of Fuerteventura Beaches, recommended Fuerteventura Restaurants, details of Amusement Parks in Fuerteventura and Fuerteventura Local Attractions.
