Tampa Airport Information
Tampa Airport is located 10km west of the central business district of Tampa in Hillsborough County.
The airport terminal was the first of its type in the world with four airside satellites connected to the terminal via an elevated automated people mover. It was originally designed to limit the walking distance between the car and aeroplane to 700 feet. This has now increased to about 1,000 feet because of the larger and more modern airside buildings.
Remember that with increased security procedures most airlines will not allow passengers to check in for a flight if there is less than 30 minutes to the scheduled departure time. Arriving at least 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure gives you an hour to get through screening and arrive at the gate 30 minutes before your departure time. Allow additional time if you are planning on dining and shopping at Tampa International Airport.

Tampa Airport Arrivals
The baggage reclaim at Tampa Airport is split into the red and blue sections (depending on which airline you have travelled with). Make sure you go to the right one and you cannot just cross from one to the other as they are on different levels.. Tampa Airport Departures
You can drop passengers off at the entrance to the terminal building, but, you cannot park or leave your vehicle there as it will be towed away.

Tampa Airport Taxis
A taxi service is provided from the Commercial Ground Transportation Quadrants located in all four corners of baggage reclaim. . Tampa Airport Buses
Passenger pickups are located in the bus spaces in the Ground Transportation Quadrants. Drop offs are made at the Departure Level curbsides. HARTline Rapid Transit is located at the East end of the Red Baggage Claim Curbside by Belt #20. The route map and schedule is located at the bus stop. Tampa Airport Trains
There is no a railway station at Tampa Airport, but there is an Amtrak Station downtown on 601 Nebraska Avenue. You can reach the station from the airport either by taxi or the Hartline rapid transit bus. The station and ticket office opens every day from 08.15 to 17.15. Tampa Airport Parking
