La Coruna Restaurants

Galician shellfish stewThroughout Galicia shellfish of all types are popular and La Coruna's gastronomy includes just about every variety of crab, lobster, prawn and crustacean. Popular dishes include: chargrilled sole, fish and shell fish stews and hake with garlic. La Coruna Galicia brings in more fish and shellfish and crustaceans than any other region in Europe because it benefits from more coastline, sand beds and ports than its southern counterparts.

Because it is so close to the coast it ensures that freshness is maximised and transport costs minimised, so that what is a luxury to many is a staple part of the diet here. Local meats include veal, beef, corn fed chicken and pork: shoulder with parsnips is a popular and traditional recipe and the empanada (pie or pasty filled with meat or fish) can be found everywhere.

Eating out here is very reasonable and below we have included a selection of recommended restaurants.
