Bilbao Weather

The city of Bilbao is situated on banks of the tidal Nervión River. The climate here is milder here than in most other parts of the northern Spanish Peninsula rarely going below freezing during the winter months and reaching a maximum of around 35ºC during the high  summer.

There is more rain here than in the southern part of Spain with a light drizzle called the sirimin making the lush green hills and countryside of this Basque area are a welcome relief after an extended stay in the hot and dry plains of the Costas.

Bilbao has the classic four seasons with spring from March to June: Summer from June to September: Autumn from September to December and winter from December to March.
