Bilbao Food Markets
The
Riverside
Market sells food in the Old Quarter on Ribera Street, surrounded
by monuments. The Conde de Mirasol pedestrian street and San Antón
bridge lead in to the market. It is a very modern building which
has an Art Deco style façade and resembles a factory inside.
It has three floors and 186 shops were you can buy fish on the ground
floor, meat on the first floor and fruit and vegetables on the top
level.
Opening hours: Monday-Friday: 08:00 to 14:00 and 16:30 to 19:00
Saturdays: 08:30 to 14:30
Summer opening hours: (15 June-15 September) Monday-Thursday and
Saturday: 08:00 to 14:30 Friday: 08:00 to 14:30 and 16:30 to 19:30
Ensanche
Market is located in the centre of the square it has been named
after between Colón de Larreategui and Henao streets (near
to Gran Via). It was built in the 19th century and has become the
most important market in downtown Bilbao with 10 stalls selling
fabulously fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and fish.
