Asturias Shopping

The best place for shopping in Asturias is located just outside the capital city of Oviedo in the large El Parque Principado mall. There are over 100 retail outlets here, with the flagship hypermarket Eroski at one end and a wide choice of restaurants, 11-screen cinema, bowling alley and children's amusements at the other. There are also a number of good jewellery shops selling things items such as diamond rings and engagement rings.

El Parque Principado is located in a sprawling industrial estate with megastores including MediaMarket (which sells a wide range of electrical goods), PC World, AKI (DIY superstore), Conforama furniture, several car showrooms and bathroom shops. The Swedish furniture store IKEA is within walking distance of El Parque Principado.

Los Prados has a smaller selection of shops but does have an IMAX theatre offering movies in 3D as well as a traditional 14-screen cinema.

These shopping malls offer uninterrupted shopping hours from 10:00 am to about 9:00 pm

 

If you are planning to explore the area outside of the city centre and play some golf or go to some of the more out of the way beaches then you might consider hiring a car. There are a number of car hire firms based at Asturias Airport who will be pleased to have a vehicle awaiting your arrival. This also cuts down on transfer costs for you and your family.
