HOLIDAYMAKERS are set to benefit from new low-cost flights from Edinburgh to one of Europe’s top destinations.
Budget airline flyglobespan.com launches a daily scheduled service from the Capital to Prague on May 19, from just £29, including taxes.
The Edinburgh-based company has already released details of a summer programme that will see flights depart from the Capital seven days a week to four of Europe’s most popular holiday airports - Palma Airport, Malaga Airport, Alicante Airport and Barcelona Airport. At present, the airline serves the cities between two and three days a week from Edinburgh.
Flyglobespan chairman Tom Dalrymple said: "Flyglobespan have been flying daily to Prague from Glasgow since the end of last year and have been very encouraged at the uptake.
"It is becoming one of Europe’s most popular destinations and we are confident the Edinburgh public will take advantage of a similar low-fares daily operation."
Edinburgh Airport has recently seen passenger numbers increase by nearly seven per cent to 7.8 million per year.
