Alicante Airport Departures

The new provisional zone for passenger processing (T2) has come into operation at Alicante Airport, providing passengers with a new boarding area that is more spacious and bright. At the moment, this area is accessed from the main terminal through a link module connecting the two buildings.

With the start-up of T2, Alicante Airport now has 4 more boarding gates, taking the overall number of boarding gates from 12 to 16. Moreover, the airport's operating capacity has increased by 22 percent, as its hourly operations have risen from 18 to 22

Check-in and baggage reclaim activities will continue to be carried out in the main terminal until the summer season, at which time it will become possible to carry them out in T2.

Ticket sales and luggage check-in take place on the ground floor, while boarding for both domestic and international flights takes place on the terminal's first floor and in the new temporary passenger processing zone in T2..

For the summer season, 14 new check-in desks and 2 baggage reclaim carousels come into service and it is expected that the airport will reach a rate of 24 operations per hour.

The T2 building has been constructed to attend the traffic demand in Alicante Airport during the works for the New Terminal Area, which are currently underway on the east side of the present main terminal.
