Spanish Travel News - May 2008 Edition
Dear {!firstname_fix},
If you have visited the home page of the Spanish
Airport Guide over the last couple of weeks you will see
it has a new look with local videos from the Sol Channel providing
all sorts of information on Spain as well as a live weather
channel.
And on the subject of weather, summer arrived here a few days
ago with a real bang and temperatures in the 30's, so if you are coming to Spain over the
next few months and want to explore the area
you are staying in it is well worth hiring
a car with air conditioning to make your trips as comfortable
as possible. In July and August opening the window simply doesn't
work - it just lets the hot air in!
I have just hired a minibus at Malaga Airport and you
can read about my experience here.!
Finally Easyjet and Monarch have announced some new routes
from Manchester and Gatwick Airports which we have provided
links to below. I know a lot of you are still waiting to see
what is happening with Monarch at Granada Airport, and I understand
an announcement about future flights to this airport will be
made shortly - watch this space for details.

Private Trackdays In Guadix
|
Recently
I had the pleasure of spending a reckless day racing around
a private racetrack in Guadix (Granada) in a hired Lotus Elise
(view
the Lotus).
Mike and Andy make everyone feel very comfortable and unlike
track days in the UK you get to spend as long as you like going
around the track!

Spanish Videos From Sol Channel
|
If
you want a different view on Spain and are fed up of reading
about everything then be sure to visit Sol Channel. They offer
a great selection of witty, alternative TV clips on life in
Spain.
They also run a monthly news review (as featured on our home
page) and a weekly weather report!

VAN HIRE ON THE COSTA DEL
SOL |
We often get asked where you can hire a large van or Luton
from in Southern Spain. One of our contributors recently gave
me the name of a company called Alba Cars who they felt provided
a very good service at a realistic price. They in fact hired
a van to collect furniture from the Ikea store near Malaga Airport
and the driver met them at the Ikea car park and did all the
paperwork there and then. They kept the van for a day and the
company again met them in the car park to check the van over
and collect it. You can contact the company at Albacars@gmail.com or info@albacars.com. Telephone: 0034 952 561 677.

Our Message Board |
We are still receiving a large number of requests for information
on our message board, and again we ask that you give us as much
as notice as possible if you need information on bus and train
timetables in order to plan your journey as they can sometimes
take some time to find.
And please carry on sending your travel tips or advice as we
can pass them on to other travellers and include them in our
monthly newsletter.
