Ibiza Restaurants

There are some very good restaurants in Ibiza Town so we have listed below some of the recommended ones along with those which have the added attractions of a historic setting, panoramic views or exceptional ambience. Almost all of these restaurants have pavement side, terrace or garden seating in high season and comfortable interiors at other times.

Dalt Vila has several good restaurants inside the walls of the old castle. It is a historically romantic setting which is best experienced by night.

Along the Port is an area dominated by a motley collection of shops, cafes, bars and hippy stalls. If you dine early you can the take a front seat later to see the incredible parades of beautiful people and the circus style promotions of the big clubs.

Sa Penya is the old fishermen’s quarter immediately behind the Port with cobbled lanes noted for its boutiques and gay bars. Good restaurants here are not so easy to find so we've listed them for you.

Marina Botafoch is the yacht harbour opposite the Castle which has some good restaurants in an exclusive atmosphere.

If you're lucky enough to be visiting Ibiza in the warm winter months, you'll find that quite a few of the restaurants have remained open. But it is best to be sure by telephoning ahead as they could be closed for redecoration or holidays.

El Corsario

Very romantic 400 year old flower-draped villa, which is near the hilltop fortress. The taxi drops you about 152metres down the hill in a square with an old church, and you climb the cobblestone path to reach the villa. There is a bar and two dining rooms which look out over the harbour below. Specialities include various pastas, lamb and incredibly fresh fish purchased from the port.

Situated in the Old Town with a beautiful alfresco courtyard, El Portalón attracts gay as well as straight couples. The food is a combination of Spanish, Catalán, and Mediterranean.

La Brasa

Small intimate restaurant with a huge tropical garden terrace below the city walls with candlelit tables. Simple and newly refurbished interior with consistently good food and friendly service. Make sure you book early as it does get very busy during the summer months.

Wine and dine in the heart of Ibiza's Port. Informal Moroccan surroundings with a roof terrace and serves high quality cuisine. A great place for a celebration as The Studio can usually accommodate larger groups with just a bit of notice.

Villa Mercedes

Vila Mercedes is not a place that you are likely to find unless it is recommended to you. It is large villa set in spacious gardens directly on the harbour in San Antonio, about 100m from the main taxi rank and 50m from the bus terminal.

There is a “chill out” bar in the villa's gardens where you can drink and enjoy the live entertainment/music that is provided at weekends. If you are dining you can either sit in the gardens or inside the Vila which has balconies on two floors. The service is friendly and the food is superb.

Spanish restaurant in wonderful historic and romantic setting with an amazing secluded terrace covered with a canopy of grape vines and view of the Dalt Vila walls. Cuisine is French/International with great steaks and apple crepes

Il Pavone

Il Pavone is a busy Italian restaurant and the easiest way to find it if to walk down Calle De La Virgen and it is the first restaurant on the left just before La Nada.

With four or five tables out on the terrace it is a great place to people watch and dinner can be as unhurried as you want it to be with excellent food, wine and service.

La Scala

If you are looking for a great restaurant in a great location then La Scala is the place for you. Situated in Dalt Vila at the top of Sa Carossa (instead of turning off for Anfora carry on walking towards La Muralla and it's the last restaurant you will come across). It is in a corner protected by he rampart walls and is a great location for a quiet or romantic meal.

The food is Swiss/International and comes highly recommended for the quality of the food, the style, the setting and ambience and the service.

If you are planning to explore the area outside of the city centre and play some golf or go to some of the more out of the way beaches then you might consider hiring a car. There are a number of car hire firms based at Mahon Airport who will be pleased to have a vehicle awaiting your arrival. This also cuts down on transfer costs for you and your family.
