Getting from Almeria Airport to Almerimar

Hi again Tracy,

There are no connecting trains in that area so I'm afraid that the taxi is your only option.

Linda

Thank you Linda that was most helpful. It seems difficult to travel with public transport to Almerimar, there are no buses after 16.15 in the afternoon & our flight lands 21.15. Are there any other less expensive ways to travel other than private taxi?

Many Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Hi Tracy,

You can find details of buses from Almeria to Almerimar by clicking on the link. You need to get the bus from the terminus in the centre of Almeria and you can find details of how to get from the airport to the centre of Almeria here.

Linda

Hi there, can you tell me, can I take the bus from the airport to Almerimar.

Many Thanks,

Passport validity requirements

Hi Martina,

This is a question we get asked a lot as there is so much conflicting evidence. The ruling from the Spanish Embassy in Madrid is that as long as the passenger has one month left on their passport and the expiry date is not before they leave the country then immigration will let them through.

Having said that, I know a number of people who have flown into Spain with literally a couple of weeks left on their passport but because they have been due to leave before the expiry date there have been no problems.

Linda

Hi just wondering if you can help me. My family and I are travelling to Ibiza July 4th for 10 days but my husband's passport expires in Oct. I am just wondering should we renew his passport or will it be ok to travel. I don't want to arrive at the airport with kids and be told we can't travel. We have tried a few places for answers but no success

Kind regards

Getting from Alicante to Moraira

Hi Francesca,

There are no buses from Alicante Airport to Moraira or Teulada, but you can book a seat on a private shuttle bus from Alicante Airport to Moraira which will cost in the region of €85. A taxi will be around €130 for the 98km journey.

Your other option is to get a bus from the centre of Alicante to Teulada and then get a taxi from there to Moraira. You can find out the various ways how to get from Alicante Airport to the bus station by clicking on this link.

Travelling from London to Fuerteventura via Madrid

Hi Linda,
Thanks for your help, as its only a short break, we
may just go direct.

Regards

Peter

Hi Peter,

I am afraid it all depends which airlines you decide to fly with. If
you goIberia all the way (which is the expensive option) then you should be
able to check your luggage right through, but if you use one of the low
cost operators the chances are you will have to collect your luggage in
Madrid, change terminals and check it through again to Fuerteventura.

Linda

> Hi Gary,
To save costs we are looking at the option of
going via Madrid using Iberia for a holiday from London to Feurteventura. Seeing the posts about going between terminals at Madrid on connecting flights we are now wondering. We are not particularly seasoned travellers, so a break
in flight is new. Do you know if the luggage will automatically betransferred i.e. we won't have to collect in Madrid. Do you have to check in, go through security for the next leg. Any advice
appreciated.

Thanks

Hotels near Palma Airport

Hi Amanda,

There are taxis at Palma Airport all the time flights are operating so your child will be able to get one outside the arrivals terminal. The nearest hotels to Palma Airport are the Hotel Apolo, Marina Luz, Negresco or HM Tropical which are 2km away in C'an Pastilla. You can find out more details of Hotels near Palma Airport by clicking on the link.

Linda

Pls advise if there is a reasonable airport hotel at Palma Airport. This is for my teenage child who is arriving at 0200 hrs in the morning so I do not want anything too far away from the British Airways terminal, are taxis/transfers available at this time?

Luggage storage at Madrid Airport

Hi again Onerva,

Details of left luggage lockers at Madrid Airport are as follows:

There are three left-luggage offices at the airport in T1, T2 and T4. All baggage left at the left-luggage office passes through an x-ray checkpoint to verify that they do not contain dangerous items or objects. Prices vary depending on size and time, but as a rough guide the costs are: for one day €3.60 (large, medium and small locker); from two to five days: large locker, €4.64; medium locker, €4.13; small locker €3.61. Storage from day fifteen onwards: €185. Transfer to the warehouse: €37.08. Special baggage €4.64.

There are lockers specifically designed to deposit large objects such as bicycles, surfboards, etc. Information telephone: (0034) 913 936 805.

Luggage storage at Palma Airport

HI There

Thanks for your reply and thanks for such a great service as we get all sorts of questions from our guests that are so hard to track down.

A big sigh of relief from all here now that we have found you.

Thanks for your time

Kind Regards

Craig

Hi Craig,

Afraid Spanish Airports are notoriously bad at providing luggage storage facilities. Only three of them actually have this amenity and I[m afraid Palma is not one of them,

Linda

Hi There

One of guests has asked if Palma Airport has facilities to store luggage as they wish to visit Palma before their late flight.

Would you know. I thought that this would not be possible as it would compromise airport security.

Thanks for your time

Getting from Valencia to Cabo Roig

Hi Firoz,

It's a 250km journey from Cabo Roig to Valencia Airport and it's not a straightforward journey I'm afraid but you have several options: you can find details of bus timetables from Murcia to Valencia by clicking on the link. The bus will drop you at the bus station in the centre of Valencia and you can find out details of taxis, trains and buses from Valencia to the airport here.

The best way to get from Cabo Roig to Murcia bus station is by taxi. It's an 62km journey which will take about an hour, so a taxi which will take up to 4 passengers will cost in the region of €75-80 single fare.

Your other options are to hire a car, or get a train from Murcia to Valencia with taxi connections as above.

I'm afraid I don't know of any rental properties in Cabo Roig but have put in a link to a website which seems to have a good selection at a wide range of prices.

Taxis from Jerez Airport

Hi Andrea,

The taxis should be no more than 20 euros eachway, its only around 10 minutes to the City centre! Buses are an option now aswell...cheap and easy

I like Jerez and I love using the airport, its small and quick...

Hope you enjoy,

Regards

Gary

Hi Gary,

Saw your website and wondered if you could help

Am travelling to Jerez in September with Ryanair and am staying in the city centre. Not hiring a car but have most of my "trips" sorted out which will either by by bus or train. However, not sorted out the question of taxis from the airport. Read somewhere that they are a "rip off" which prompted me to look at the Jerez Airport Shuttle - that is coming out at around £60 return for the two of us. Wondered what you would recommend and are the taxis reliable and not too expensive.

thank you in anticipation of your help.

VIP Lounges at Madrid Airport

Hi Laurie,

As you will be flying Iberia from Chicago you will be flying into Terminal 4. I am assuming that your flight to Casablanca is also with Iberia and not Easyjet or Royal Air Maroc: in which case it will be departing from the same terminal. You can find out more details of terminal 4 at Madrid Airport by clicking on the link, but Iberia have several VIP lounges in this terminal which are equipped with shower facilities and which you can view by clicking on the link.

Linda

Hello --
I will be transferring flights at Madrid next month -- will be arriving from Chicago and going to Casablanca. I will have a 3 hour layover. Are there shower facilities at the airport? I am flying first class, so I don't know if that makes a difference with respect to lounge privileges.
Thank you.

Getting from Palma to Cabo blanco in Llucmajor

Hi Linda

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Michelle,

The Ola Maioris hotel is just 16 km from the Airport close to the resort of El Arenal. A taxi will take 4 passengers and cost in thr region of €25 single fare or you can get a low cost quote for car hire in Majorca by clicking on this link.

It's a straightforward journey so you can either purchase a map in the UK to plan your route before you arrive in Palma or get one at the airport. Alternatively viamichelin provide online route maps. You can see a map of the area and where Llucmajor is situated (which is where Cabo Blanco and your hotel is located).

Hi Richard

There is no railway station at Torrevieja so your best bet is to get a train from Madrid to Alicante or a train from Madrid to Murcia

You could then try and hire a car in Alicante or hire a car in Murcia. Alternatively it's a 70km journey from Alicante and 79km from Murcia so a taxi (which will carry up to 4 people) will cost in the region of €100 or €115 respectively single fare. There are also buses linking Alicante and Murcia to Torrevieja and you can find out more at http://www.torreviejainformation.com/bus-details/

If you click on this link it gives you details of the various ways to get from Madrid Airport to the Renfe railway station.

Linda

Hi Gary

Just been looking at your website and hope you can help.
We have booked to fly into Madrid on 20th August but our final destination is Torrevieja on the coast. There are two adults and 4 children. Two aged 14 and two aged 13.
I've enquired about car hire but they don't seem to have any left that will hold 6 people plus cases. Flights to Alicante or Murcia are too expensive as is private transfer which worked out at 1,200 euros.
Can you advise on buses or trains either to Torrevieja or to the nearest larger town from where we could get taxis. Or any other possibilities.
Look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Getting to Tamarit from Reus Airport

Hi Linda,
Thats great thank you for your quick reply.

Thanks a lot for your help,
Here's hoping for a nice holiday!
Charlee

Hi Charlee,

Tamarit Park is about 25km from the airport (40 minute drive) so a taxi will cost in the region of €35 single fare for both of you.

I have checked all the various routes for buses from Reus Airport and cannot find one which goes to Tamarit Park. I have also looked on the website for the resort and they do not mention any bus links, so suspect a taxi is your best bet.

Linda

Hi,
My partner and I will be arriving at Reus airport on the 2nd June and we need to get to Taramit Park in Tarragona as we will not be arranging to hire a car. Would a taxi be our best bet as I understand the park is not too far from the airport or are there buses we could get instead?
Never been to the area before so any help you can offer is much appreciated,

Getting a bus from Gibraltar to Tarifa

Hi Lottie,

There are no buses from Gibraltar to Tarifa but if you walk across the border into Spain you will reach the La Linea bus station in a few minutes and you can get a bus where you either have to change at Algeciras or to Tarifa from here depending on which day you are travelling.

There are no trains in Tarifa and I'm afraid I can't find any bus services to Jimena de la Frontera. The only connection I can find is if she goes back to Algeciras and catches a bus from there. It's a 63km journey so a taxi will cost in the region of €85.

I don't know this area that well so it may well be that when your mother arrives in Tarifa she finds there is a local bus company there.

First of all, Spanish taxis will only take a maximum of 4 passengers so you need to get a quote for a private transfer from Murcia Airport. The it's a 26km journey from the airport to the centre of Cabo Roig so a normal taxi from outside the arrivals terminal will cost in the region of €35 single fare.

I can't find any bus links from Murcia to the resort and there are no trains so a taxi or private transfer is your only option.

Advance passenger information at UK and Spanish Airports

Hi Alex,

This came into force last year and if you click on this link you can find out more about Advance Passenger Information

And you are right in that most of the airlines now request this information at your time of booking to save time at the airport. The reason they ask for it in advance and do not rely on getting the information from your passport is that not all the UK or Spanish Airports have the scanning device which extracts this information.

Linda

Hi

Can you please supply me with some information on the new security for departures into the uk. I have read in a local newspaper that you are advised to arrive at Alicante airport earlier because they are now required to obtain your full name, date of birth and passport number before you can check in. I have also been told that this can be done online before you depart Alicante. Any information would be helpful to avoid the queing at the airport. What is amazing is that all the details they need are already on your passport.

Getting to Calella from Girona Airport

Hi Gemma,

If you click on this link it gives you timetables of buses from Girona Airport to Calella As you will see the last bus to Calella is at 13:00 (arrives 14.15).

Your best bet by public transport is to get a bus from the airport into the centre of Barcelona and then get a bus to Calella from there.

It's a 62km journey from Girona Airport to Calella (driving time about one hour) and a taxi would cost in the region of €80-90 which would be for 4 passengers single journey.

Linda

Hi,

There is a group of us trying to get from the airport to Calella. I believe that the last shuttle bus is at abot 2:15pm, although our flight only gets in about 3pm.

I also believe that taxis cost about 80quid each way, which is far too expensive. Do you have any information on alternative transport? We travel on Thursday.
