Buses from Barcelona Airport to Plaza Catalunya

Hi Lindsey,

You need to catch the A1 Aerobus which runs to Plaza Catalunya until 01.00 in the morning. You can get more details of timetables, etc, at Spanish Airport Guide Barcelona buses

If you are delayed for any reason and arrive too late for the buses then a taxi will cost in the region of €20-22 single fare for both of you.

Linda

Hi Gary

My husband and I will be arriving at Barcelona airport on Friday 2nd May approximately 2330 hours. Are there still buses running to Plaza Catalunya at that time as we will be staying in hotel in Eixample district and intended taking a taxi from there after leaving airport bus, or would be better taking taxi all the way from airport, if so roughly what should we expect to pay.

Many thanks.

Regards

Lindsey

Easyjet flights into Barcelona

The Easyjet flights land at Barcelona El Prat Airport which is about 18km from the city centre. You can find out details of buses and taxis as well as an area guide (including where the beaches and shops are) to Barcelona at www.spanish-airport-guide.com/barcelona-airport.html

As you will see from the area guides, you really need to get into the city centre for the shops, restaurants, etc.

Linda

Hi Gary

I just have some questions and was hoping you could help by answering them for me.

I have book a flight to Barcelona on the 10th June with easyJet for my boyfriend for his 21st as an surprise visit.. It just says Barcelona would you know which airport easyJet come to?

Where is the nearest shopping centre and beach and how do we get there...baring in mind we only there for 12 hours.

Have you got any suggestions for what we could do for the day that is near the airport?

This is the 1st time us visiting spain and would like to be organised before i get there...

Thank you

Hi Alice,

I'm afraid Spain are not good on "Travelodge" type hotels. The nearest place to stay that I know of near to the airport is the Areca which is half a kilometre away. You can find out more about it and make an online booking at www.alpharooms.com

Ferries to Morocco

Hi again Linda,

I'm afraid you have to get to the other end of the Costa del Sol to catch the ferry to Morocco. You can do this from Algeciras or Tarifa (depending on the time of year you are travelling) which are between 1 hour 40 and 2hours drive from Malaga respectively travelling along a good motorway connection for most of the way . Details of the ferries are available at www.ferries.co.uk

Taxis and buses from Almeria to Mojacar

Hi Theresa,

There are always taxis available at Almeria Airport and the cost into Mojacar should be around €112 single fare. Or you can get a quote for a private transfer at http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/almeria-airport.html

The bus to Mojacar runs from the centre of Almeria so you need to get a bus or taxi and then the bus to Mojacar which takes just over an hour. You can find out details of timetables and fares at www.alsa.es

The bus is obviously a lot cheaper but takes a bit longer and involves a change. I personally would opt for the bus, but it really depends on your granddaughter's age and whether the bus journey will be manageable after a flight.

Linda

Flights to Gibraltar from France and Switzerland

Hello, Can you help? Have been asked to help a friend who is trying to swim the straits of Gibraltar in July. However, My friends will be travelling from the UK. I will be travelling from France about an hours drive from Geneva, Switzerland. Can't find any notes on where planes go from and into Gibraltar. I don't want to fly back to the UK and then out again. Can you advise me of the web page I should be looking at.
Looking forward to your reply.
Liz Harrison

Hi Liz,

You can find out which flights operate into Gibraltar at http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/gibraltar-airport.html

As you will see there is nothing from France or Switzerland so you may prefer to fly into Malaga - details at http://www.malaga-airport-guide.com/ and then either hire a car to get to Gibraltar or get a bus from Malaga to La Linea (which is on the Spanish side next to the border with Gibraltar) - details at www.ctsa-portillo.com

Terminal transfers at Madrid Airport

Hi Adriano,

The recommended minimum time to allow for transfers is 1 hour and 30 minutes so you are OK providing you are not delayed into Madrid.

There is an automated people mover which connects T4 with T4S so you can easily transfer between terminals.

As both your flights are Iberia you should be able to check your luggage right through from Sao Paulo to Heathrow and clear immigration in the "passengers in transit" area at Madrid which is usually a speedy process.

Linda

Hi Linda. I was reading your website and it is brilliant. It's very
good to find people trying to help other people. :-)

Well, I am a bit worried about a trip I will do to Europe in July.
Maybe you can give me some advices.....

I will depart from Brazil (Sao Paulo) on July 19, and Arrive at Madri
(Barajas) on July 20, at 07:05 if no delayed (flight # IB6826) -
Terminal 4S.

Then, at 08:45 I have a flight (# IB3162) to London Heathrow departing
from Terminal 4

I'll have about 1:30 to transfer from 4S to 4.

Is it enough time? Will I have to go trough immigration process?

As I could find on the Internet, the common way it to go from 4 to 4S.
I will come from 4S to 4. Is it ok?

Thank you very much for your website and for your help.

Best regards,

Adriano.

Getting to Salou from Girona Airport

Hi Tess,

There is no bus to Salou or Cambrils from the airport, but you can get a bus into to the centre of town - details at http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/girona-airport-buses.html and ten a train to Salou and Cambrils - details at http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/index.jsp?page=hjhir110.jsp&O=?&D=?&AF=
2008&MF=MM&DF=DD&SF=NaN&ID=i
- but as you will see there is only one train a day!

The journey distance from Girona to Cambrils is over 200km so a taxi would cost a fortune.

I think your best option is to get a bus from Girona Airport to Barcelona - details as above and then a bus or train to Salou http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/barcelona-airport-buses.html and http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/index.jsp?page=hjhir120.jsp&O=BARCE&D=?&AF=

Storing luggage at Madrid Airport

Hi Andy and Sam,

Madrid is one of the few Spanish Airports that does have left luggage facilities. There are three left-luggage offices at the airport in T1, T2 and T4. Prices vary depending on size and time, but as a rough guide the costs for part or all of one day are €3.60 (large, medium and small locker).

To use the left-luggage office:

* Request the key from the desk personnel. You must show your passport or identity card.
* Get a token from the vending machine (it takes coins and notes).
* Pass your baggage through the security scanner.
* Open the locker by turning the key in the direction shown, put your baggage inside and close the door.
* Enter the token in the slot and close with key. Keep your key, it is your evidence of deposit.

Information telephone: 913 936 805.

Quickest way to get to Valencia from Castellon de la Plana

Hi Manish,

It's an 80km journey from Castellon de la Plana to Valencia Airport so a taxi journey will take about one hour and cost about €100 single fare.

Your other alternative is to get a train from Benicassim to Valencia and then another train or taxi to the airport - details at http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/index.jsp?page=hjhir130.jsp&O=65318&D=VALEN&AF=2008&MF=MM&DF=DD&SF=NaN&ID=i
