The bus terminal is in the centre of Faro which is about 7km from the airport. You can get a quote for hiring a car from Faro Airport and dropping it back in Faro downtown by clicking on this link.

Thanks for getting back to me, can you let me know how far the bus terminal is from Faro airport i.e. if it is a long way - we are going to hire a car at Faro airport for 5 days would I be able to drop a hire car back nearer the bus terminal?

Hi Caren,

You are right in that it is expensive to take a hire car across the border - this is due to the increased insurance costs. You can get a bus from Faro to Seville and then hire a car from Seville which you can drop off in Almeria.

I want to travel from Faro to Spain, ideally I would have liked to have hired a car from Faro and dropped it off in Almeria, however looking at all of the car hire companies a lot of them do not let you do this and the couple I have found that do are very expensive.



Therefore I wanted to look into travelling from Faro either by bus or train to Spain, then picking a car up when I get to Spain to drive the rest of the way to Almeria, can you let me know if this is possible?
