Luggage collection on connecting flights at Madrid

As you are travelling with Iberia for both flights you should be able to check your luggage right through and not have to collect it until you get to your final destination.

I was wondering if you could help me
im slightly confused with the luggage situation between my connecting flights.
On the 15th of August I am flying in on the IB 3177 form Heathrow and arriving at Madrid Barajas Airport at 19:45, Termial 4.
At 21:30 i am then getting the IB 954 to tenerife from Terminal 4.

I was wondering, whilst waiting between flights will i need to retrieve my luggage and then check it in again, or will it automaticall be transferred from aircraft to aricraft?

I am doing a return journy of a similar nature, but with an hour extra stop-over time. I am aslo arriving in to Madird from Tenerife in Terminal 4, but leaving for Heathrow via Termial 4S. Would this change my luggage situation?
