Flying from Adelaide to Almeria via Barcelona

You need to check with the airline you are travelling with from Adelaide as to whether or not you can check your luggage right through to Almeria.

I am traveling to Spain later this year - The booking has been made from Adelaide through to Almeria via Barcelona.

As Spain is the country of destination, would I clear customs & immigration at Barcelona and then check-in for a domestic flight to Almeria?
Or would we go to a transit lounge and clear customs and immigration upon arrival at Almeria airport?
