Getting from Tenerife South Airport to Puerto de la Cruz

I would catch the bus as connections are excellent on the island and you will find this a much cheaper way to get to your destination - http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/tenerife-airport-buses.html

I have just booked a holiday in Puerto De La Cruz (arriving at Tenerife south) and was wondering how much to expect to pay for taxis?

Are the fares listed on the site on a meter (and so may shoot up?) What are the bus transfers like?

Which would you recommend?
