Travelling from Spain to Portugal

Thanks for all your help, Linda!
We really appreciate the information.

Regards, Carol

Hi Carol,

There is no rail link between Spain and Portugal. The best way of getting from Marbella to Seville and then on to Faro is by train and bus.
You can either get a bus from Marbella Bus station (which is just outside the town centre) to Seville - details at http://www.ctsa-portillo.com/ima/pdf/marbella.pdf and then a bus from Seville to Faro - details at http://www.faroairportguide.com/faro-to-seville.htm

A slightly quicker option to get from Marbella to Seville is to get a taxi or bus into Malaga (bus timetable details can be found on the ctsa-portillo website above) and then get a train from there - details at http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/index.jsp?page=hjhir130.jsp&O=54413&D=51003&AF=

Gary,

I got your e-mail from a search on the I-net.
A group of us will be staying at the Marriott Marbella 2/29-3/7/08 and would like to go to Seville (possibly for an overnight), and over to Faro in Portugal before returning to Marbella.

The train information I have pulled up is in Spanish and I am not content with my reading it correctly.
Do you know if you can do this by train and the approximate cost?
We will have a rental car, but thought it might be best to do the rather long trip by train instead.

Any help you can give us would be appreciated.

Regards,

CarolLee Miles
