Getting from Marbella to Faro

There are no train links to Faro but you can get a bus from Seville so you might be better off dropping your hire car off there. There are two buses at day at 07.30 and 16.15 and details of bus timetables can be found at http://www.eva-bus.com/home_pesquisa2.php?lang=UK&servico=0&origem=

I need to hire a car and that is the problem. Hertz charge £500 extra to drop off in a different country so train or bus would seem only possibility. Is this possible?

Hi Mark,

I am not clear on whether you are talking about a hire car or bringing your own car over. If it's a hire car then Hertz or Avis have provision for you to collect it in Spain and leave it in Portugal. You can get an online quote at www.hertz.com or www.avis.com

They charge extra for you to do this but I have not come across any particularly extortionate costs.

Hi Gary,

I am on holiday with my family in June near Marbella and immediately after
had intended to drive to Faro for a golf trip, but hear some firms charge
you a lot to leave your car in a different country. Do you have any idea
how much? If this is a no go, what is the next best option?
