Finding employment in Alicante

Hi Gary,

The best way to find work in the catering trade in Spain is to go round the bars and restaurants when you arrive in Alicante or get hold of a local paper. Spanish employment agencies will not be a lot of help as they do not tend to register these kind of jobs. If you are arriving at the end of February you are in Alicante before the season really kicks in at Easter when the majority of employment takes place so hopefully you should be able to find something.

The main local paper for the Costas is Sur in English at http://www.surinenglish.com/index.php or the main one for the Alicante area is Costa Blanca News at http://www.costablanca-news.com/ (both of which you can access on line).

I am moving to Alicante at the end of February with a friend, with the idea of finding work.
We both have experience in the preparation and serving of food.
We also have experience in bar work.
I was hoping that you would be able to give me an idea on how to find work in either hotels,clubs,bars, or pubs in Alicante.
Or give the the address of an egency that would be able to point me in the right direction.
