Changing flights in Madrid with pets

thanks very much for replying to me.

Hi Jane,

Check with the cabin staff on your flight from Chile where your cats will waiting for your collection at Madrid. If they don't know they can check with their ground handling staff at Madrid, who should also be able to assist in getting the cats in to their next flight. You should also check on the Ibiza flight where you can collect your cats when you arrive as there are no hard and fast rules in Spain as to whether they are taken to cargo or simply put on the luggage carousel with the rest of the baggage (which in fact happened to mine despite me being told something quite different). So the only advice I can give is to keep checking with the ground handling staff at every stage of your journey.

As far as getting from terminal 4 to 4S at Madrid Barajas is concerned it is very easy as they are connected by a high speed train which runs every couple of minutes.

Hope you and the cats have a trouble free journey.

Linda

Hello,
I have been reading different things on your site, I wondered if you could give me any advice.

I am flying on wednesday 10th jan, from santiago, chile with LAN to madrid, and then changing onto a IB flight to Ibiza. I am travelling with 2 cats.
The agents here have told me I have to collect the cats and put them onto the ibiza flight.
I am worried about how i get from terminal 4s to terminal 4, and where do i go, just to the normal check in?
I have 3 and a half hours between flights.
I assume my luggage will be booked straight through, but I am not sure the cat boxes will fit on a normal trolley! how do I go about getting help on arrival?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Jane Maiden
