Long Term Parking Alicante Airport

Hi
I have been trying to call the phone number provided for long term parking at Alicante Airport (10 days) but no answer.
Do I have to reserve a place or can I just come on the day of departure and get a park?

Thank you

Ulrika

My Reply...

Hi Ulrika
The normal airport car park is just turn up and park (€€7.40 for the day), but a cheaper option may be to park with a company like Aupaparking.

Here is a link to their website: http://www.aupaparking.net/

I havent used them but we have many similar companies here in Malaga and there is not any need to book in advance, you generally just turn up and park.

Hope this helps and all goes well

I'am looking for a place at or arround the airport where I can store my Bike suitecase for one day. I will fly to mallorca in the morning for a one day road bike trip and go home at the same day in the evening.
Where can I store my Bike suitcase during the one day?

Hi Herbert

There are not any storage lockers at Palma Airport but you could try asking at the INFORMATION desk. Or call this number and ask if there is anything that they can do.

Petrol Station near Mahon Airport

Hi Gary

We are due to fly into Mahon airport about 10 pm in October and the car hired will not have a full tank of petrol. Is there a 24 hr petrol station near to the airport? We will be driving to Cala n Bosch.

Many thanks

Margaret

My Reply...

Hi Margaret
I am not 100% sure if there is a petrol station at the airport.
If you ask your car hire company I am sure that they will provide a map to the nearest one. Thats what they did for me at Barcelona the other week.
If you remeber can you let me know how you get on.

Car Hire within Seville Airport

Hi Gary: My question is: Which car hire companies have an office at Seville Airport? I do not mean companies that only send an agent to meet passengers.
Many thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,
The are four main car hire companies based at the airport in Seville. You can find the companies on the ground floor of the main terminal building.
Avis at Seville, Atesa at Seville, Crown Car Hire at Seville airport (0034 954 980 214) Europcar at Seville Airport and Hertz at Seville Airport.

Tenerife North to Las Americas

hey there Gary

im flying into Tenerife on the 9th of Feb but flying to North Tenerife Airport, however i will need to get to Las Americas, Hotel Bonanza. could you possibly help me out on the easiest route there please.

thanks

Graham

My Reply...

Hi Graham,

Tenerife North is just starting to get more "tourist" traffic and at the moment it's services are a little limited!

You can either get the direct bus to Tenerife South Airport and then go from there (all info here)

OR

Get a bus/taxi from Tenerife North into Santa Cruz and then get a bus from there direct to Playa De Las Americas.

Bus Information
In Santa Cruz it is possible to take another bus service to head south:
line 111 Santa Cruz-Los Cristianos-Playa de las Américas, every half hour from 05:30 to 21:30; line 115 Santa Cruz-Las Galletas, on working days at 07:15, 08:45, 9:45, 11:10, 12:10, 13:10, 15:10, 16:10, 17:10, 19:10, 20:10 and 21:10; Saturdays and Sundays, at 07:15, 11:30, 16:15 and 19:45; line 116 Santa Cruz-El Médano-Granadilla, at 06:00, 08:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00 and 19:30.

If you listen to the options long enough it will give you options in English, if not just hold on and when answered ask to speak to soemone in English, I have spoken to them many times and they do have an English speaking department on that line.

The only other thing to do is call the airport direct on 0034 971 809 000

As I mentioned according to my research and notes there are not any VIP lounges at ibiza BUt worth asking. If I am wrong can you let me know

Barcelona Airport to Tortosa

Dear Gary
We are travelling to Tortosa and would like to get the flight to Barcelona that arrives at 2100 on Thursday 19 July 2007. I believe there is a direct train line from the airport. Could you let us know if there is a train at this time.
many thanks
Penny Roberts

My Reply...

Hi Penny

I dont know if there is a train that goes from Bracelona Airport to Tortosa...
The main train from Barcelona Airport is the C!0 that goes into the center of Barcelona every 20 mins (I used it last week).

For most destinations you would need to change at Barcelona Sants (3rd stop).
Here is a link to the local rail system for Barcelona (they also have an English speaking helpline)

Car Hire at La Linea / Gibraltar

Hi Gary,

We are coming from Seville on 13-02-07 to La Linea De La Conception. And want to hire a car at La Linea or Gibraltar area. We looked up car trawler and it gives a pick up selection of Gibraltar but when we progress with the booking pickup address shows as "Hotel Guadacorte Park - Carretera de Cadiz Km. 115, E-11370, Los Barrios - Cadiz (GiIbrartar)" We are confused as when we look on the map Cadiz is a good 10 miles away. I would ring car company to confirm exact location but they don't have any telephone number showing. Which would also be handy to have in case of getting lost trying to locate pick up point. As you advocate this particular site would you happen to also have a number for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi Martin,

Car Hire at Malaga

I have obtained quotes for a four day stay in Malaga, I will not betravelling far, the car is for convenience. I have but caught in the past inhaving to pay for a full tank of petrol when I don't need it, please informif any of your partners provide cars that do not have this practice.Kind Regards

Martin Raynes

My Reply...

Hi Martin
I only recommend Car Trawler the booking agency so I can't comment on their behalf and I would imagine it would be difficult from them to pick different providers for each quote as it is all fully automated to find the cheapest quote.
The best thing to do in my opinion is use a local company like Helle Hollis where you can call them and discuss your booking before making it. There are very very good and speak english!

Lost Property

Hi Gary,
Recently on Sunday 21 January I left my camera - a Canon Power Shot S3IS in a trolley at by a lift down to gates RSU. The camera was is in a soft black case. When you turn it on the display screen does not work correctly unless you open it right out.

The time was approximately 1:00pm as we flew out on British Airways to Heathrow airport at 2:05pm. Does the Airport have a lost property office - and a contact email address?
I would appreciate any help you may be able to give. I am anxious to get it back as it has hundreds of pictures from the recent holiday I had in Spain, Morocco and Portugal.

Getting around Valencia

Gary,
I will be arriving in Valencia on March. 1 with a total of 5 people needing to get to the Vincci Lys in downtown Valencia. It looks to me like the bus is the least expensive way for all of us to get there, but can you tell me which bus to take and what stop to get off near our hotel. We will each have just 1 bag on wheels so I'm hoping we can fit it all on the bus. Do you think that will be a problem with luggage?
We're also planning to take a day trip to Requena on the train. Can we walk around Requena from the train station or is it not in a good location? Can we walk to some wineries or will we need a taxi? Can 5 fit in a taxi?

Thanks for any help you can give.
Karen S.
Indiana, USA

My Reply...

Hi Karen
The best thing to do is contact the Vinnci hotel in Valencia as I do not have that much knowledge to be able to help tell you where to get off the bus etc...
The bus is the easiest and cheapest method and as it is the airport bus there is plenty of space for luggage.
With regards to Requena, I have never been there, sorry.

Getting Around Seville

Hi,
We are coming to Seville for four days, April 6 - 10 and then on to Malaga for four days, April 10 - 14. I know this is the busiest time of year for Seville. We are a family of four. I was going to rent a car upon arrival but worry I will not need it in Seville or be able to find a place to park it. Does the bus system get overloaded this time of year? Do you recommend taxi's or private hire cars if I decide to not rent a car until we go to Malaga but instead get a ride into and out of Seville airport into the city centre.

Any suggestions for getting around Seville airport during this very busy time of year would be appreciated.

Gracias,
Mike

My Reply...

We have been to Seville a number of times. Normally we drive from Marbella to Seville and stay in a hotel. You have to pay for parking which can be expensive.

As any City, it does get busy, and traffic can be a nightmare, we always get lost in Seville. Once we are there, we normally park our car and leave it, and alwaya walk around the City.

There are horse and cart tours, open top buses and normal buses. The last time we were there im sure they were putting in an underground.

Personally, I would just hire a car when you are going to Malaga. Take taxis or buses to where you want to go. It will work out cheaper than hireing a car for those days and paying for parking.

Hope this helps.

Clearing Customs at Madrid

I love this website! Thanks so much, what great info.

We'll be flying to Madrid on American in late October and I need to now make a separate flight reservation to get us down to Granada. I'm sure we'll need to clear customs in Madrid and I was wondering how much time I should leave between flights to make sure there is enough time to get bags, clear customs, and get to the other terminal early enough for the second flight. Flight arrives 8:50AM on Sunday, 10/21...

Hi Derk

I would allow a couple of hours minimum as you never know what delays you may ahve coming over from the USA.

Hope all goes well, Granada is beautiful at that time of year!
