Taxi pick ups at Malaga Airport

There has been a big problem with the taxi drivers at Malaga Airport because of the number of private individuals who operate cash only airport runs and private transfers, so I would guess your ban on holding up a sign has stemmed from that. Aena (the airport authority) have imposed a ban on any individual collecting people from the airport who is not a registered driver. If I am meeting anyone from the airport and do not know them, I always give them a quick description of myself or tell them I will be holding a certain magazine, and tell them to head towards the Sports Bar which is on the left hand side as they come through the door. This seems to work and might be the best option for you.

Hi Gary,

Please could you let me know what the rules are as far as meeting people at Malaga airport with name placards ? We have to frequently meet guests - ( private ) at the airport and don't always know what they look like. Recently one of our drivers was told he was no longer able to hold up a name board for the person arriving - do you know if this is true ? We are a privately owned property and receive guests throughout the year and normally a member of staff will meet the guests. We are not a travel company or transport company. Would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
