Mobility assistance at Malaga Airport
Many thanks linda,
This really is very useful.
It would appear that there is a bridge between airside and arrival side and knowing Malaga airport quite well I doubt if they will be improving the situation.
I have told my Grandma to flutter her eyelashes at someone to help them with the luggage but I think she worries that no one will help them. My parents will be waiting for them in arrivals so they are looked after from there, I'm just trying to fill in the bits in-between!!
Again, Thank you for your help and assistance
Michelle
Hi again Michelle,
The ground handling agents for Easyjet at Malaga are Menzies and you can contact them on +34 952 048 285/+34 952 048 284 to try and arrange a buggy. As you know, special assistance at Malaga Airport is sadly lacking so your grandparents should also speak to the flight crew on their outward fight from Newcastle and ask them to radio ahead to check a buggy will be available to meet their flight. (There are usually a few waiting in the arrivals area)
As far as lifting luggage from the carousel is concerned they are at the mercy of other passengers helping them, or giving one of the ground staff a few euros to assist. Because they are still airside I am afraid there is nothing you can arrange from any agencies as they cannot assist until they get to the other side of the arrivals hall.
I don't know how they are getting to their final destination, but there is a company called Mobility Services who will meet them with a wheelchair (again in the public zone of arrivals) and wheel them to the car or coach. You can contact them at http://www.mobility-spain.com/

Hello, Linda,
Thank you for your prompt reply,
My Grandparents are flying with Easy Jet from Newcastle to Malaga. They have already booked special assistance but last time they could not help them with the luggage.
Thank you again,
regards
Michelle
Hi Michelle,
If you let me know which airline they are travelling with I will give you their ground handling staff contact details at Malaga Airport. It is also worth speaking to the operator at the UK end to see if they can help arrange something for them
Hi Gary,
My Grandparents are travelling out to Malaga next week and are disabled. they have booked in for special assistance but I'm aware the wheelchair can only take you to security. Please can you let me know how to hire one of the buggy's as I know the walk in Malaga is very long. Also both of them are very frail and not able to lift the bags from the baggage claim, is there any staff in the airport who could help them do you know?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm clutching at straws now and the airline sites are very brief and it takes forever to get through to the customer service.
Kindest regards
Michelle Robinson
