Getting from Madrid to Toro
Hi Joe,
There is a station at Toro but no trains from Madrid operate there. If you follow this link you can find out which stations you can catch a train from http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/index.jsp?page=hjhir110.jsp&O=?&D=?&AF=
2007&MF=MM&DF=DD&SF=NaN&ID=i
Your other option is to get a train from Madrid to Valladolid - details at http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/index.jsp?page=hjhir110.jsp&O=?&D=?&AF=
2007&MF=MM&DF=DD&SF=NaN&ID=i and then hire a car from there for what is a 69km journey which will take you under an hour. If you get a taxi it will cost in the region of €90
It is a 234km drive from Madrid Toro (about 2 hrs 30 mins) and if you do decide to hire a car you can get a free online quote at http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/car-hire-spain.html
As far as Hotels in Madrid are concerned you can find a good selection at http://www.madrid-hoteles.com/ and if you need advice and guidance the staff at Area Hotels who own the website have good knowledge of what is available to suit your requirements.
Hope this is of some help to you.
Linda
Gary:
I came across your website and thought I would ask for your advice. I will be visiting Spain in December and will fly into Madrid. Part of my visit will take me to Toro, but I can not find that option on any of the train websites. Is there a station in Toro?
It appears to be an easy drive from Madrid to Toro, but if transportation by train is an option, I would prefer to not rent a car.
Also, what would you recommend for a hotel in Madrid?
Thank you so much for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Joe Walker
