Driving in Mallorca
Hi Paul,
The Palma Airport website gives you all the bus and taxi options in Mallorca http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/palma-airport-buses.html There are no trains in Mallorca.
Hiring a car is certainly a better way of getting around on the island as the main roads are good and well signposted. Cabo Blanco is only 16km from the airport and it is motorway and major roads all the way. There are still a lot of people travelling to Spain at the moment so I wouldn't describe the roads as quiet, but a car really will give you far more flexibility. The bus services are good but waiting around at stops with a four year old won't be much fun!
You can get a quote for car hire at http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/car-hire-spain.html This company hold a database of local car hire companies and matches your requirements against this to come up with a competitive quote.

Hi,
I stumbled across the web site and found it to be a good source of info. My wife, myself and our 4 year old will be flying from Glasgow to Palma Mallorca for one week(in a couple of days time) and I was thinking about hiring a car for flexibility as opposed to relying on bus/taxi. We will need to drive to OLA Maioris - Cabo Blanco (I think)
I just wanted some advice as I have never driven abroad. Would you advise car hire in Mallorca? How busy is it for traffic and what are the bus or train services like?
I have 20 years driving experience but am a little nervous about driving abroad.
Any advice would be welcome .
thanks,
Paul
