Cancelled route from Gatwick to Almeria

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the information. I am actually in the process of updating all the Spanish Airport Guide flight pages with their winter timetables so will make sure the Easyjet route from Gatwick to Almeria is corrected. We run a pretty thorough maintenance programme on the site and September/October are my months for putting in the winter routes. They have actually cut quite a few routes this winter - and keeping very quiet about all of them! At least your drive doesn't sound too tortuous!

Thank you again for taking the time to send me the information - it is much appreciated.

Linda

Hi

Found your site very helpful, but I can imagine it's hard to keep it up to date.

Just to let you know that Easyjet are not flying Gatwick to Almeria in their Winter 2007/2008 schedule.

Easyjet have been very good at trumpeting the news of their NEW destinations this coming winter, but lousy when it comes to announcing route terminations. There was no announcement about their decision to drop Gatwick to Almeria, not even a courtesy email to past users.

I don't have any information about whether they will return Gatwick to Almeria in the 2008 summer schedule - guess we will have to wait.

We have a place near VERA in Spain. Almeria was our nearest airport, Murcia the next. Until very recently we had to do a dog-leg journey Via Murcia, or go along a tortuous coastal route, to get to Murcia Airport. However, a new toll road has opened from near Cartegena to Vera. The journey is much quicker. Toll is currently 11.5 Euros eachway. When we did the journey recently I doubt we saw more than 20 cars each way on the toll road! Makes driving a pleasure again!

Regards

Chris Thomas
