Luggage theft at Alicante Airport

We have recently returned from Spain. When we got back, we discovered our luggage had been broken into (padlock removed) and items stolen. These items included a camera, Sat Nav and GPS receiver. More concerning was an item was placed into our case. I have contacted various people about this including Glasgow Police. We were flying with Globespan who were very unhelpful with this matter and seemed unconcerned about the lack of security at Alicante airport.

I am writing to make others aware not to put expensive items in your case as we discovered travel insurance will not cover you once it goes into the care of the airline and enters baggage. I also want people to be aware that items are going into cases too.
