Getting from Girona or Southern France to Faro

Hi Mandy,

You are right in that flights from Girona only go to Oporto in Portugal (Ryanair were the airline that used to operate that flight you are referring to). The only flights from Faro to Spain are to Palma Mallorca.

I have checked the Faro Airport Guide http://www.ana.pt/portal/page/portal/ANA/AEROPORTO_FARO_CNT/?AE_FR=196131&actualmenu=6743744&cboui=196131 and unfortunately there are no flight to the Languedoc region,.

I can't find any direct trains (they all seem to require more than 3 changes from that area) , but if you want to look at the French website the details are http://www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/_SvTermConsHorSaisie?_TMS=1185956870966&_DLG=SvTermConsHorSaisie&_LANG=UK&_AGENCY=VSC&_TMS=1185956858375

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Linda

Hi Gary

We'd really appreciate it if you can advise us how to get from the Languedoc in France (Montpellier, Carcassonne, Perpignan in France and Gerona in Span are all accessible) to Faro. My father-in-law is very ill and lives about an hour north of Faro. We may need to get there when we are on holiday in southern france during mid August. I had understood flights went from Gerona, but they only seem to go to Porto.

Many thanks

Mandy
