Baggage theft at Alicante
Dear Professor Boese,
I am sorry to hear of what happened to you and your guests at Alicante Airport. We are an airport guide and do not manage the airports. It is best if you lodge your concerns with Aena (the Spanish Airport Authority) and you can contact them at http://mail.google.com/mail/?view=cm&fs=1&tf=1&to=servicios-aeroportuarios@aena.es&fs=1
Linda
Sir: We had a wedding party in Spain with almost 100 foreign participants and some guests reported to us after returning via Alicante to various destinations on Monday, July 2nd, that their luggage was opened by force, the locks were broken, but with cloths only and all valuables in the hand luggage, nothing was missing. This is why they did not complain at the authorities. The same happened to us two years ago when returning from Alicante, in that case we reported a camera missing. Something similar never happened to me from anywhere in the world although I can claim to be a frequent flyer. I suppose you have some gangs in your luggage handling personal and suggest you to have them carefully observed or video monitored. If it becomes known that Alicante Airport has special problems, you will loose customers which this is bad publicity and I suggest you to take immediate action.
Sincerely,
R. Boese
