Layover Lounges at Madrid Airport

I would check my luggage right through as it is easier than collecting it and rechecking it in at Madrid (even through you have more than enough time!) You might well be moving across terminals there (the airport has 4 plus a satellite) and with current security checks it is much easier just to get rid of it at NY.

so hopefully you can find something to suit from them.

we have a 14 hour layover in madrid, arriving at 10:00 a.m. (from NYC) and departing for South Africa at midnight. are there any rest/shower facilities at the madrid airport? should we check our luggage through from the u.s. to south africa or pick up and re-check in madrid. thanks for your help.
