Getting from Chamartin Station to Madrid Barajas Airport

Hi again Pete,

Well according to this Metro map you can't interchange at Plaza de Castilla http://www.madrid-tourist-guide.com/en/map/madrid-metro-map.html

Hope this makes it clearer.

Linda

Hi Linda

The route I have "found" is only quicker if I can interchange between line 10 and line 8 at Plaza de Castilla, and this is not clear from the map. Can I interchange between these two lines at Plaza de Castilla?

Kind regards

Pete Talboys

Hi Pete,

We are in the process of updating all the bus and train routes on the Spanish Airport Guide. If you have found a quicker route then that is the current one. The train timetables and routes in Madrid are being greatly improved so your information will be the latest.

Dear Gary

I am trying to sort out the best way to get from Chamartin to Madrid airport. On the Madrid airport website it gives the directions in the box below.

However I have found a map that indicates I could have 8 fewer stops and 1 less change if I change at Plaza de Castilla and Colombia.

Which is correct?

You can travel from Madrid - Chamartin by the Madrid Airport Trains and the route involves 16 stops and 3 changes:- Chamartín-Gregorio Marañón: line 10. - Change at Gregorio Marañón to line 7 in the direction of Avenida de América. - Change at Avenida de América to line 4 in direction of Mar de Cristal. - Change at Mar de Cristal to line 8 in the direction of the airport.

Kind regards

Pete Talboys
