Costal Train from Altea or Alicante to Valencia

Dear Gary

Found your website while trying to get info re the coastal train from Altea
or Alicante (I am staying at Albir) to Valencia. We thought it would be
slower, but more picturesque to go along the coast.

Please can you tell me :

Where to get the the train?
How long does it take?
How much approx?
Where can I get a list of small hotels for a 2-day break?
Where is a good central area to stay for the Turia gardens, historic centre..
We are active pensioners! We usually explore on foot.

I usually get info from the Turismo offices, but know nothing of the size of
Valencia and proximity of hotels to e.g Turia gardens.

Any advice would be most welcome.
