Smoking at Tenerife Airport

Hi Gary

We have recently returned from a holiday in Tenerife and very angry that Tenerife south airport had no designated smoking area after flying for nearly 5 hours it is not easy and we where disgusted that they still have the nerve to sell you cigarettes but will not provide an area to smoke them.I would like to know if this applies to everyone or just loyal passengers who return year after year and go nowhere else,or airport employees.I understand the reasons for doing what you have to do but the airport must also take into account how difficult it is for us smokers who have smoked for many years and the stress this causes not to mention how awful it looks outside huddled round bins like children. Our own airport in Manchester have thought of their passengers and have a sealed designated area which doesn't harm or offend anyone but is provided at least maybe they need to think long & hard about this as a lot of passengers I spoke with outside said they would not be returning to Tenerife. Please have a thought for smokers and not just non-smokers.

My Reply...

Im sorry for your distress of not being able to smoke but we are not the airport.

The main airport company in spain is www.aena.es

Regards

Joanne
